Captain marvel wins it for the second year running

Shame he doesn’t shout lots or get sent off regularly like Adams and Vieira did

I dont give a shit how much any Gooner likes odeargod, no proper Gooner that watched TA6 and PV4 in their pomp for us would ever disrespect them like that - I take it you are young and follow players based on hype more than substance ?

He voted for arteta out ;)

I agree with his sentiments though he goes missing.

TA best captain by a distance.

Viera wasn't actually very vocal either, but if you were not such a young whippersnapper Stuart you would k ow that! ;)

I rate Vieira as one of the greatest players we ever had, but as a captain he was a pussy. Roy fucking Keane called his bluff in that tunnel and Vieira shit the bed like a bitch. Fucking embarrassing.

TA6 for me was a proper captain. Took no shit from anyone and led the players through thick and thin. Never let anyone take liberties with him. He would have pissed himself laughing in Keane's face. :box:

Odegaard is not a great captain or leader in my opinion. But he seems "popular" and I think that might be what matters to these weak ass pussy generation z players nowadays.

The game is not as combative as it used to be so no need for a "fearless warrior" type captain anymore.... probably.... :|

I think Oirish Deckers has a bit about him and might make a decent captain - if he got that fucking 1980s throwback hairstyle sorted first though!

I think Odegaard is captain as he has the football brain to understand and implement the pattens of play SuperMik want to impose on the opponents. You can often see him leading the press, forcing the play in one particular direction, and cajoling ( not screaming ) at his team mates to get into the right positions to force errors and win the ball back.

Viera was great in the way he won the ball, always battling away in midfield (physical but fair...not a leg breaker like keane)...setting defence into attack charging the length of the pitch to set up a chance.....great player in a team full of leaders

Yes Stuart as above regarding Odergaard...hes a very good footballer no doubt about that, and does a lot of the chasing and pressing as well...some of his passing is sublime...but not sure about the great captain bit

Yeah I also think it's fair to say as a footballer Vieira led by example on the pitch, just like Bergkamp, Pires, Parlour, Henry, Petit, Overmars etc and so many of those players in that 98 to 04 period.
