Actually, when I was a little kid there was a tv series called The Adventures of Long John Silver with Robert Newton (who plays the role in the film you've linked above) in the lead role. I hasten to add that it was made before I was born, but it was still on tv. Used to watch it with my older brother. Good days.

A French Tierney or Partey. Great player on his day but hamstrings made of popadoms and would play 20 games a season.

I know it's not my money being spent, but anything over £40 million (and that's being generous) for Viktor Gyokeres, Edu and the people in charge of our transfers need their heads examined by science for the study in stupidity

I work with a Porto supporter and I've asked him about this Gyokeres bloke over the last few months. His view is that yes, he scores goals but says that if you play for one of the big three teams in Portugal, you're going to score a load because you're going to get so many chances against the rest of the teams who aren't that good. His view is that goals against the other members of the big three are the only way to judge a player in that league. He also says quite often that there are teams in the Primeira Liga that have been in there years and nobody could tell you anything about because they are so anonymous and irrelevant. So, basically the scum or shammers of their league.

I used the same thought process to dismiss vlahovic when he was leaving Fiorentina and we were heavily linked - he scored a bag of goals for Fiorentina, but when you examine his record closely you will see that a TINY percentage of them were against good teams, and obviously my caution was well founded cos juve are now trying to get rid of him cos he has done fcuk all there
