That is truly concerning. We all know that signing any new player; especially to play in the Prem can be Hit or Miss, depending on how they are coached, their ability to adapt and progress etc; hopefully improved (like Havertz?), but when there is evidence of them only being successful against the lesser teams, then surely that is the equivalent of a Red Flag/ Alarm bell.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 8:03 amI work with a Porto supporter and I've asked him about this Gyokeres bloke over the last few months. Financial deal agreed supposedly. Just need to do personal terms. Fee up around £75m plus add ons. Lots of money for a guy playing averagely for Coventry a couple of seasons ago.OneBardGooner wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 12:09 pmThat is truly concerning. He didn't stand out at Coventry. This guys is so far below our level it's not funny. Not even 20m. Spanking 60m on this dud is worse than the havertz deal. Far worse. This guys pedigree is crap. Hopefully fake news as no-one reliable is reporting it.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I'd never heard of the bloke until the reports linking us in recent months and was very worried to see that he'd been at Coventry and went cheaply to Portugal. That's not to say that a player can't have a modest beginning and then come good, but it's a lot of money to spend on an untried (at the top level) prospect.
If we sign him, he better be the answer to our non scoring striker problems and give us 20+ league goals per season, because it's the glaring weakness in the side and Arteta will have no excuses after failing to add a decent goal scorer over the last 3 seasons. If we don't get a top quality striker, then there's no way we'll have any chance of over-hauling City, or getting to the business end of the CL.
Judge him in August.

Yeah I vaguely remember the TV series, what I do remember is they all used to begin with Long John Silver silhouetted against a blue background/ sky? waving his cutlass around and going "ARRRRRGGGHHH HAAA ARRRRRRGGGHHHH!"Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 5:40 pmOneBardGooner wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 5:07 pmhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uoy2yILQe5AOneBardGooner wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 5:01 pmARRRRRGGGHHHH TIS TRUE ME ARTY! Aren't financial details sort of 90% of the whole transfer thing? There's a lot of stuff in life that I'm probably 'very close' to doing; like marrying Helena Christensen or playing up front for Arsenal if you just took away almost all of the necessary things which had to be in place for those to happen.
So you're an ugly bloke with one leg?![]()
And he's always got some bird hanging off his shoulder Too!![]()
THeys don't make em like this anymore ARRRRRGGGHHHH!

Probably just as well.![]()

Actually, when I was a little kid there was a tv series called The Adventures of Long John Silver with Robert Newton (who plays the role in the film you've linked above) in the lead role. I hasten to add that it was made before I was born, but it was still on tv. Used to watch it with my older brother. Good days.
Ever since then I've wanted to be a Pirate... AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!

In the race for Serhou Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund fear Arsenal the most, at this stage!
