Not sure what the point of spending £50 million on a left sided CB when we have Gabriel, Kiwor and Tomi who can play there, as well as Saliba if need be as hes showing he can do it for France.
Would be better to spend it on traditional style LB
Just thinking there must be something maybe going on with with Saliba or Gabriel and this guy is going be a replacement for one of them
According to wikipedia he is a left winger or forward
Btw he scored 2 goals in 12 champions league games, and 3 goals in 21 league games - just the type of player to lift us up a level

Augie think you're getting mixed up with the Italian defender and the German forward/winger, natural born is talking about the Italian

All the previous comments were about being linked to german player - how am I the one mixed up ?
I'm talking about Natural Borns post where hes talking about the Italian defender ,which you quoted and then started talking about the German player, albeit the previous few posts were indeed talking about the German winger/forward ,are you with me

Apologies, yes I was talking about Calafiore, that Italian defender from Bologna that is supposed nearly a done deal if you believe Twatter.
I just don't get it. He looks really good but I doubt he'd want too be coming to us to be sitting on the bench.
Saliba looking class again tonight, I just think it's a matter of time before Real Madrid go for him

Or maybe we are stacking the backline so we can rotate and deal with injuries and suspensions with no drop in quality. Why does no one question Man City stacking their backline. They have Walker, Dias, Akanji, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol, Lewis.
We are now trying to compete on thier level in terms of depth quality. Thats what were doing here. Arteta and the Kroenke's want to win.
Mind you we still have a section of the fanbase who want that spotifyguy with Thierry Henry doing the PowerPoint presentation, with a promise to hire Thomas Tuchel.
Fabrizio Romano has just said the Calafiori deal is Done & Dusted.. a 4 Year deal and all that remains is for the Medical to be completed!
Considering his knee got obliterated a few years ago, and should have finished his career as a teenager, plus he has a few other historical injury issues the medical may not be a formality.

It also means that Zinchenko or Kiwor will in all probability be sold for £25m approx meaning we have upgraded that key position for a nominal amount.
We need the left hand side to be as fluent as the White / Odegaard / Saka combinations on the right.
Timber can almost play anywhere, in defence or midfield, ideal in terms of rotation and will still be eased back in.

Ah! Now THAT I did not know....
In that case.... Let's re-negotiate based on a Pay Per Performance etc.
