Forest fined £750,000 for match officials comments


Nottingham Forest have been fined £750,000 by the Football Association for bringing the game into disrepute after ruling the club questioned the integrity of the match officials following their loss to Everton last season.

The club complained on X about three penalty decisions that went against them during a 2-0 defeat by the Toffees at Goodison Park on 21 April.
Forest denied they had questioned the integrity of officials or brought the game into disrepute.

But an independent commission found against them, adding that it noted "clear evidence of a lack of genuine remorse" from Forest.

Forest's social media post was made around five minutes after full-time in last season's match at Goodison Park.

"Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept," the club wrote on X.
"Our patience has been tested multiple times."

Claims for penalties after Ashley Young's challenge on Gio Reyna, his handball and then an attempted tackle on Callum Hudson-Odoi were all turned down by Anthony Taylor on the pitch, with video assistant referee Stuart Attwell not intervening.

Forest also said they had "warned" the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) that the video assistant referee was a supporter of relegation rivals Luton Town.

The defeat left Forest - who eventually avoided relegation from the Premier League - one point above the bottom three.

The following day, the Daily Mail published a column from former referee Mark Clattenburg, who had taken a role as a referee analyst at Forest earlier in the campaign, defending the club's actions and describing a "hat-trick of howlers" from the officials.

A fortnight later Clattenburg stepped down from the role, saying the job had created "unintended friction" between Forest and other Premier League clubs.

I watched it top rodders and I was in a rage watching it.

It's so fucking obvious to anyone that has ever played the game that veltman has completely hoodwinked the ref ffs. And not only that he has completely lashed Rice out of it. Oh it should have been a red card alright, but not to Rice, it should have been to the veltman cùnt.

Apparently, the letter of the law only applies to Arsenal. That bald prick justifying thr cheating by claiming that the ref was right not to send that dipper off for the exact same thing as Rice because they were losing and wasting their own time. That's not how it works, you stupid cûnt. If you want to go down the letter of the law route, you have to apply it all the time and therefore punish everyone they do it or nobody at all. This is basically admitting that there's a law applied to us and not applied to everyone else. It's not just about the sending off, it's the suspension that follows that also affects a team. We had to go and win at the dump with a weaker squad because of the sending off. The dippers didn't have to deal with a weakened squad for their next game. The man is a lying, cheating cûnt who thinks he's untouchable because his mates in the press have been told to stop pointing out issues.

I've been convinced that there is corruption at work in English football for decades but now I don't think it's plain old bias or cheating to favour certain teams or individuals because they suit the Premier League agenda, like is was with Ferguscum and Manure, this is now full on corruption, bribery and match-fixing. Webb and his refs are acting on instructions from betting syndicates in China on one level and full-on state sponsored organised manipulation from the Middle East. The syndicates and Arabs got their teeth into them years ago and now they own them. Webb having a mobile device at a game when actively involved in the decision-making would not be allowed in any other sport. He's either giving instructions or he's relaying information to Bookmakers or his paymasters. The fact that he's been caught out and now there's a panicky reaction to laugh it all off as paranoia by the TV companies and a total blackout in the written press, tells you everything. It was exactly like this with corruption in cricket, drug taking in cycling and athetics and the Russians with their state-sponsored doping. People know behind the scenes but legal threats and personal threats from the syndicates and middle-eastern governments prevent anyone from speaking out.
