Honestly the more I look at our transfer situation, the more confusing it seems to me -

1. Ramsdale we are looking for a bigger fee for him than we paid for the guy view as an upgrade - how the fcuk does that make sense ?? Clubs expressing an interest in signing ramsdale are tripping over each retreating from negotiations, and all the talk suggests that no club is interested unless we reduce our demands

2. We sign calafiori based on a need at left back even though he played his best football at centre back :? Of course it was accepted by all and sundry that kiwor would be leaving to go to an italian club so calafiori would be a like for like replacement (and hopefully an upgrade), but now it seems that we are keeping both AND keeping zinchenko

3. With today's signing of merino, you would imagine that we would surely be selling either partey or jorginho but there seems to be no talk or interest in either player - what is the point in having 3 players for that one position ? Again it seems that this is classic wenger (and GG to lesser degree) in that we are stock piling a few positions and completely ignoring the striker position

I have continually stressed my belief that getting rid of deadwood was AS IMPORTANT in this window as bringing in new players - the ramsdale situation to me has been a cluster fcuk from day one cos you cannot have two "number one's", but the cone boy knew the situation last season so if he felt it was workable last season, why is he willing to let ramsdale go now ? To me you either keep him as number 2 or you sell him for £25m-£30m but you dont loan him under any circumstances. For what it is worth if he was to go, I would have considered bringing back chesney as back up to raya.
Tierney has been scrubbed from squad photo and is persona non grata it seems despite saying or doing nothing to be treated like a leper - casting him aside like this has seen his value depreciate to the point now where it looks like we will be paying him to go and that is absolutely shocking imo. Yes he is injury prone, but is there anyone here that doesnt think we could have got at least £10m for him if he had of being kept involved in the squad ? Like the chavs are finding out now, casting players aside to train with the kids/reserves/b team is the quickest way to weaken your hand when trying to sell the player cos the whole world knows how much you want rid

🔴⚪️🔐 Arsenal have informed Jakub Kiwior and his camp that he’s not for sale.

Despite interest from Villarreal and Bologna on loan move, Arsenal want to keep Kiwior at the club.

Decision made as @wlodar85 has reported today.

Again I am asking what was the point in signing calafiori for so ? Both are left footed centre backs that can play left back, so wtf do we need both of them for ?? :? It's almost as though we dont have a proper plan in place
The Italian is a left back as well , thi k that's where he will mainly play. Anyone who keeps Zinchenko away from left back is OK with me. Think Kiwior is a decent player personally.

Yeah, made this point on here the other day. Not sure why Kiwior seems to have been pushed aside and at one point seemingly considered for sale. He did well in his spell at LB last season and I’d take him ahead of Zinchenko day long. Still, the boss seems to like a favourite.

This is a doozy

Arsenal interested in signing Darwin Nunez before Friday’s transfer deadline. Player keen to move to London and work under Mikel to win trophies + Liverpool willing to sell. Improbable but not impossible.

I knew that but my point was that I would have made a move to bring him in BEFORE he retired - there needs to be a clear boundry between your first and second choice keepers and that has never been the case here imo. People and the meeja still talk about ramsdale as a number 1 keeper and the fact that he has retained his place in england squad has helped that narrative - bringing in another first choice keeper to replace ramsdale (espanyol keeper linked) is just an escalation of this mess imo, where as I think bringing in a keeper like chesney (though not necessarily him) creates clear definition between them and hopefully leads to less hassle down the line cos the back up keeper understands his role is that of cup keeper and back up keeper

Well, Zinchenko started this season when Timber, Kiwior and Calafiori…all of whom are better options imo…were available.

I was certain that Zinchenko, Jesus and Partey would all be gone this summer and any manager keeping those three at the club isn’t doing so because of what they’re giving us on the pitch. Well, that’s when they’re actually on the pitch rather the treatment table. Still, ESR was never a favourite, so he’s gone.

Just to add think viera was a favourite as well....but was so utter out of place and shit he just could not justify a place for him
Still be back for next season no doubt

Personally, I think if Calafiori is a decent enough centre half, he should replace Gabriel who is just so clanger prone and who can turn to complete shit without Saliba to hold his hand. Not saying Gabriel is total gash, but he has issues, and if we can upgrade on him, we should.

I simply cannot believe he has assembled this squad and is going to leave us short up front ultimately making us lose out for a third year in a row.

I am making a promise to myself to not get as emotionally invested this year when it is fucking inevitable that we will fall short again.

If they players are serious about becoming premier league champions then they should be knocking on Arteta/Edus door and asking where the fucking striker is.

Jesus - injured constantly and not good enough anyway.

Havertz - not a natural cf.

Nkeitah - about to sell and utter shite.

Baffles me.

According to sky, the shammers and fulham are interested in reiss nelson but no bid yet - another player that I wish him well and hope he has a good career elsewhere. With nketieh I knew he wasnt good enough, with smith-rowe I know he could have been a star for us, but with nelson I am really not sure cos he has shown flashes of potential but really hasnt got any chance under the cone boy to show whether there is a quality player in there or not - no doubt many will strongly disagree with me on that (as is their right), but seriously how hard must it be to get 15-20 minutes once a month (if that) and be expected to be up to speed straight away ? He may not be good enough for a top club (and I too have my doubts), but he is one of ours and I do wish him well and believe he needs to go for the good of his career
