As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
The Emi Martinez fan boy claxon has been sounded (days after he fucked one in against us)
The force is strong with this one sir!
AWOOOOOOO GAAAAAAA
Fair enough Rodders, he fucked up with our 2nd goal, but all keepers fuck up and ours have been particularly good at it.
Couple of genuine question here….do you think he’s a better keeper than Leno, Ramsdale and Raya?
Do you think that if we’d kept him as our number one, then we wouldn’t have been through the goalkeeping farce we’ve seen and are still seeing?
Better than Leno - yes, better than Ramsdale - much of a muchness for me, better than Raya - no.
We could have kept him I suppose and not bothered with Ramsdale in the first place. There’s definitely an argument for that. He’s not good enough though and his regular cock ups fly under the radar because he’s at Villa.
He’ll never been as good as he thinks he is as is proven by the fact that no big club has come in for him and Villa is his ceiling. A c.unt player at a c.unt club - how apt.
I hope that goalkeeper rumour isn’t true because that’s just bat shit mental.
Havent I been saying for a while that our transfer policy seems to be scatter gun to say the least - there seems to be no method or plan in place and despite signing young players, everything seems to be quick fix with no long term planning When you buy young players like sambi etc, surely there is a recognition that there is a likelihood that it will take time to develop them to this level, so you dont bin them off within 12-18 months IF you believed in them enough to sign them ?? We are spending as much on back up keepers as some clubs are spending on first choice keepers It looks like we have THREE left sided centre backs and THREE defensive midfielders and ZERO proper left backs and ZERO proper number 9s
Honestly edu and the cone boy get a lot of praise and adulation for our transfer dealings, but if you look at it closely it really doesnt stack up both in terms of success rate and money spent
Memo to the cone boy fan club - please be objective here and dont project with shit like calafiori is a left back or that Timber is a left full. Check through the facts and you will see that calafiori's career rose from the ashes when he changed from left full to centre back (in a back 4 or back 3) and Timber is a right back that can play left back but isnt a natural left back
You know I’ve a hard on for Tets Augie but the transfer market is definitely something he can be criticised for.
This goalkeeper and defender fetish needs to stop, he’s signed 200 of each and got his kicks out of it so it’s time to move on and find another vice.
Having someone else in the room other than himself and edu would be no bad thing. Surely there’s some nerd who spent his teens playing football manager and knows every young player with potential in Europe and how they’re developing that we could recruit. A Diamond Eyes Mk. 2 if you will.
We need cover for Saka and we need a striker who’ll compete for the golden boot. If we spunk 20 million quid on a back up keeper without addressing a those positions I’ll lose my fucking mind.
His situation at Chelsea is incredibly “messy” and it would be a very tricky deal to do.
BREAKING from @Teamnewsandtix:
Raheem Sterling has been offered to Arsenal.
The player would be willing to take a pay cut.

I know this going to be rich coming from the person who posts alot of bullshit rumours on here but teamnewsandtix are so full of bullshit that I've actually blocked them on twitter

Twice for effect ?
Pasted the wrong thing the second time.
I meant to paste this:
JUST IN from @Teamnewsandtix:
Raheem Sterling’s people have said it would be his “dream” to move to Arsenal.
Chelsea want a fee, Arsenal don’t want to pay a fee. Tricky.
Sadly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if this were true. I mean, we haven't taken our chav cast off so far this summer and with a day left we really need to get moving. It's a double whammy for Lego Head, a chav reject and a City reject that he used to work with....all the boxes ticked. Makes perfect sense, sign him up, fee or not.
He’s doing an adequate job but Raya is not a long term solution. He had very few fans 12months ago. How times have changed. His age and size would eventually work against him. A taller keeper tips the ball over the bar against Villa and wouldn’t need to make the follow up save.
