Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Are you shocked ?? I said all along this clown will not buy a striker who will unseat his darling jesus and his other favourite havertz (neither of whom are good enough). Keeping nketieh, or stalling the deal until late, allows him to justify not buying another striker, but there was never an intention of signing one anyway and only a fool thought otherwise

Wise up.Linighans there!! wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:16 pmso thats it - season over, star midfielder out for months, no new signings at all, a gaurantee we wont win against a superior brighton team and a gauranteed loss aginst a spurs team boyed by a proper manager and new signings. we will do well to qualify for conference league![]()
We're beating Brighton.
I do think we're short of options in midfield.
Who would replace Odegaard of he was injured?
I don't want Sterling near the place.

Tierney wasn’t a deadline day signing. One of Emery’s earliest August signings.Nick Nack wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:10 pmSome of our wonderful deadline day business:Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:30 pmI’m getting 2012 nostalgia!Linighans there!! wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 1:16 pmso thats it - season over, star midfielder out for months, no new signings at all, a gaurantee we wont win against a superior brighton team and a gauranteed loss aginst a spurs team boyed by a proper manager and new signings. we will do well to qualify for conference league![]()

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Well he dies by the sword (Arteta).
He's sold three attacking players assuming Eddie goes and not replaced anyone of them. That's his choice so at the end of season 5, regardless of a new contract, if he fucks up this year he'll walk. Three quarters of a billion spent and our Frontline is just Havertz and Jesus
I suspect Martinelli will be called to play as striker this season

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Tragic that Sterling would be the defining signing of this day, if it happened.

Diarra didn't work out well, wasn't he gone in the January window? I think Adams in one of his books reckoned he was the laziest player ever

Özil and Arteta are about it in terms of decent quality on deadline day

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
It's just negilgent not to get a proper goalscorer in. That's what makes the difference when it comes to winning things. It's so fucking obvious and not addressing it is absolutely fucking mind-boggling. Buy a decent striker, win the league. It's that fucking simple. Don't get one in, don't win it. He's made his decision and he'll have to deal with the consequences. There's no fucking hiding place now.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
It should never be forgotten that Eddie was fucking off a few years ago and Arteta chased after him all season to sign a new deal. It was almost like he couldn't be arsed to go look for a replacement. Arteta has convinced himself that the wide players are more important than any striker and that will be our undoing.
