Absolute piss take of a penalty decision, but fuck me what a chronically awful display. Limerick arguing pre match with me about the quality of our midfield players….well anyone watching that who still doesn’t think that Partey, Merino and Jorginho are woefully substandard needs to give up and watch the fucking darts!!

I said beforehand that if I were in the side I wouldn’t misplace so many passes as the clown Partey, but you could pluck anyone from Sunday league to improve on his piss poor distribution. Then there’s Merino’s air shot from the Rice free kick to add to his Championship overall performance.

Partey played at right back and I didn't think he was that bad.

I knew someone would come out with the “but he wasn’t in midfield” lame excuse. If you read what I wrote then you’ll see I was talking about his distribution. The most straightforward of passes are underhit, overhit, or most of all misplaced to the opposition. Wherever he’s playing on the pitch is irrelevant, his passing stinks. In fact, you get more time as a full back than in centre mid, but he misplaces balls when he’s not under pressure. It’s a disgrace and fully on Arteta that Partey is still at the club. Should have been sold 2 summers ago when we could have got a reasonable fee for him.

Sorry, but if you didn’t think he wasn’t that bad then I can’t help you. All I’ll say is re-watch the game and examine every involvement of his. His passing in the first half particularly was embarrassingly dire.

Now they've been caught out being incompetent or corrupt yet again with the pictures clearly showing Saliba playing the ball with his head, they've come up with some "sufficient contact" thing to explain their cheating. I shall look forward to that when the next time they don't give a penalty because the defender has just got a toe to the ball first before whiping out Jesus or Martinelli or when they don't give one because the keeper gets a finger on the ball before tripping Havertz or Trossard in the box. We should all remember that the laws of the game just don't apply.
It's also worth considering just how they managed to come to the "sufficient contact" judgement after what, 20 seconds of reviewing? Finally, why didn't we see the official review on the screen? Makes me think that yet again, they didn't even bother to look at it properly with "sufficient" scrutiny.

That's your opinion and I respectfully don't agree. He was up against Adingra and later Mitoma and not once did he give them inch despite playing out of position. Look at the passing sequence that led to the opening goal. It was Partey who unlocked Brighton's press and released Merino.
He's been one of our best performers this season and that's general consensus amongst fans outside this forum.
I know people are upset because of the result and looking for scapegoats but let's try to be objective.
Without the dodgy pen, we would've won this. Unfortunately we didn't have the extra attacking threat to go and get the extra goal thanks to injuries and the reported illness running through the squad.

I’m not getting into another never ending spat with you. It’s not opinion, it’s indisputable fact. Watch the game again and watch every action in which he’s involved. Keep a count of the misplaced passes. Nothing to do with needing scapegoats, I had my head in my hands watching him in the first half when we were in front. I’d be making the same points about him if we’d won. He’s never been better than bang average and in the last couple of years he’s an utter liability.

Comments about him unlocking their press with a pass are frankly schoolboyish. It would be up there with saying Jesus scored a hat-trick so must now be a quality striker. Making a quality pass is what I expect from a footballer, but what I don’t expect is a litany of misplaced, underhit, or overhit passes. It’s not occasional from Partey, it’s his standard form.

You like him, that’s fine, you’re perfectly entitled to do so. For me, he should be long gone. Total liability.

I have said in the past that I dont agree with every instance where we claim we are being rode by match officials, however what pisses me off is why the club are doing nothing on the ones that are as clear as day corruption. All clubs signed up to premier league rules but it hasnt stopped citeeh suing the premier league when they were caught cheating - why wont we bring the premier league to court of the incompetence ? Was it the belgiun league that was brought to court recently over a result that was decided by an incorrect var decision ? The courts directed that the game gets replayed and I cannot understand how no premier league club has taken similar action yet. I am not talking about challenging referee's decisions cos there will always be mistakes there (mostly genuine reasons), but I am talking about going after var who have replays and monitors in front of them but "forget" to draw lines or decide to interpret rules their own way and are screwing clubs as they please. In my opinion clubs are going to have to step up and make a stand here and say that they are no longer willing to accept incompetence or corruption by var officials - even if it means the termination of var, at least it will stop those corrupt c.unts taking money out of the game for not doing their jobs correctly, and it will send a marker that referee's who are paid will be held accountable for their decisions and it might influence the c.unts actually doing the games.

This to me is a similar story to our striker issues - we complain about it ALL the time, but what is the club doing to change it ? You may not win but at least challenge corruption when you see it, cos corruption is a virus that spreads
