By the way, welcome to the forum, fella. As the Eagles once famously sung: "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave!!"

Well put together, it was only a runout....g88ner wrote:I enjoyed the game!![]()
A few positives....
Jack Wilshire looks like a real talent...he's not afraid to take people on, and every movement he makes with the ball is positive..he commits defenders, and is always looking for the forward pass. He reminds me a lot of Joe Cole, and for 16yrs of age, he looked remarkably comfortable in his surroundings.
Francis Coquelin has really impressed me. How refreshing to see a young footballer playing with both intensity and desire in a meaningless friendly! His tackling looks very good, and he looked reasonably comfortbale on the ball..that's twice in a week, he's come on and changed the pace of the game. Star performer
Clichy & Sagna looked solid in defence, and Clichy was probably our best attacker in the first half; they look ready and hungry for the new season!
Vela finally made his Arsenal debut..that has to be a positive!
And negatives....
Hoyte & Hoyte were a fecking disaster!Brothers???? seriously?? they played like they'd never met each other before!
Almunia - Ok, maybe harsh as I'm not even sure he was at fault for the goal...but wouldn't it be just great if once in a while, our goalie actually bailed us out of trouble with a world class save! too much to ask?
Finally...Randall & Lansbury - they're talented young Englishmen, who also play for Arsenal, so I'm 100% on their side..but I'm just not convinced by either of them. Unlike Coquelin, they aren't playing with desire and intensity, and their passing, awareness, shooting, and pretty much every aspect of their game has been poor in my opinion. Oh well.
who exactly is he? Other then annoying pundit who you want to see whacked with a chair. Why was he appointed? A former player I'm not aware of?Shovell
That plank Shovell is a fucking joke. What is he doing commenting on the performance when did he ever kick a ball? All he ever says is Arsenal are great and to keep the faith. He does not represent the average fan.Tom bloody Watt and Stewart Robson who talks bullshit are the same .We dont want to be told everything is great when we can see with our own eyes that they are not. They are afraid to tell it like it is incase it upsets the club.Lets have some honesty ATVI Hate Hleb wrote:Shovell had 15 minutes of fame (as a drummer?) with a band (M People?) and subsequent to that is now seen as the voice of the Arsenal fan!!
Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt he is a big Arsenal fan, probably a really nice bloke and a great laugh to be with. But he should not be popping up on nearly all the programmes on Arsenal TV - supposedly as a fan's representative - and then refuse to say it as it is.![]()
There is enough 'rose-tinted' people on there already, so let's have more of the 'realists' point of view.
Plus, the real and plain truth of it is that Shovell is a rubbish football analyst who struggles to add anything to the programmes he appears in.![]()
