PSG A Big lugs Semi final 2nd Weds 7th May KO 8pm

The shit show is far from over, the dippers and barcodes can easily turn us over and if we’re not careful embarrassingly.
Couple that with some results elsewhere and the bottom of this seasons barrel has yet to be scraped.
The decent thing to do is let Legohead see the season out and then send him packing with his replacement given a decent budget and the summer to get to work.

Disappointed that we had some good chances and the keeper made some excellent saves. Take those and it was in our hands. We played well enough away from home against PSG, but the usual issues were there to see, Captain Milksop was shit again, silly mistakes and lack of management.
But I'm so fucking angry that we haven't got a striker. Even the commentators mentioned it. The number of times the ball came in and no one took a gamble. It is total and utter fucking negligence by Diet Pep, and for that alone he should be sacked.
Even second place in the league isn't guaranteed, blow that and he should be shown the door immediately.
He's won nothing in five years and his record in cups is shocking. Time to go.
We ain't getting second place Nick. City will get that. We could end up anywhere from 3rd to 5th. Can't see us getting anything from the next two games and while we should beat Soton away, it would never surprise me to come away with no more than a draw.

Totally agree - We won't win again this year.

Big games are not lost because the opposition goalkeeper makes two world class saves. Big games are lost because of basic mistakes , and because when the right winger plays a perfect ball along the six yard line no one has the foresight or ability to react to it. No one thinks on their feet. I am gutted, because I genuinely believed it might be.
We were not good enough over the two games. There is no other truth than that.

Spot on mate,we didn’t even play badly,we created enough chances to win the game but at the crucial moment we made naive mistakes,Rice should never foul there,Partey with the weak header, the deflection was bad luck, but what isn’t bad luck is the poor decisions from Arteta and his poor tactics,Nwaneri must wonder what his future at the club is if he can’t do his thing with 10 minutes to go,Bradywasking wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 3:29 amBig games are not lost because the opposition goalkeeper makes two world class saves. Mikel Arteta on his Arsenal side in the Champions League: "I don't think there's been a better team in the competition.
That level of delusion simply cannot go unchecked, there has to be someone at the club to reign that shit in, we were dumped out having been toyed with by PSG for id say 140 of the 180 minutes. Enrique (along with countless others) has exposed this lad for the low level clueless novice that he is.
We seem to be the only club that point blank refuses to learn from past mistakes.
Rip it up and start again

Prime Wenger comments here. No wonder we are a laughing stock when this clown is carrying out mental gymnastics to justify the negligence of not singing a striker.

I have to give the players and to a certain extent, Arteta, a bit of credit.
Quite how this squad is second in the league and were not far off a CL final is utterly amazing considering we are bereft of almost any attacking and creative players!! I thought we played pretty well last night and with a different keeper in goal for them we may have gone through.
Arteta will be here next season but it will be his last if he doesn't win a trophy and rightly so. He's had his chances, he's fucked up royally with our attack and he's broken important players but over playing them in needless games.
We need 4 attacking players, 2 strikers, a left winger and an attacking/creative midfielder, let's see what we get, anything less and we'll be saying au revoir to Arteta and also to Saliba, possibly Saka and others at the end of next season.

The comments under the article are very refreshing.
People are sick of him now.

Let’s be honest, of the 4 teams in the semis we were the odd ones out. Probably an overachievement to reach this stage for this squad.
Re: PSG A Big lugs Semi final 2nd Weds 7th May KO 8pm
These pre and post match comments are prime Wenger. If this or that had happened we'd have 2 Premier League trophies. 100% been the best team in the Champions League. It's little wonder fans of other teams rip the piss out of us
Nearly all of us knew both in Summer and January that a squad without decent strikers wins nothing.
We made the semi final of the League Cup, when Havertz was fit. In the opening 10 minutes of the second leg, he fluffs a clear one on one. Moments later Isak goes up the other end and nails the tie. FA Cup, Havertz fit and well and fluffed God knows how many chances against Man Ure and Captain Invisble misses a penalty. Bruno sinks a beauty for them and they score their penalties. Last night Saka misses an open goal, in the first leg Martinelli fluffs a one on one. Dembele has one chance, one goal.
There's a reason why top strikers cost over 80m. They are the difference makers. His vanity projects of Havertz, Sterling etc have been exactly that. These players will NEVER get us over the line. If he can't see that this summer then he can do one
I'm sick of all this pathetic drivel about blaming PGMOL, VAR and fuck knows what else. We had moments to win all these trophies and our own lack of guile has cost us. Plain simple

Re: PSG A Big lugs Semi final 2nd Weds 7th May KO 8pm
He has always been Wenger's protégé, but over the last season he really has began to morph into the Old Fraud. The blinkered and daft comments are no more than a deflection, a diversionary tactic to keep negative attention away from the real problem, which is him and the duffers he's recruited.
Wenger, although increasingly bizarre, could get away with the nonsense for years, because of the credit in the bank and the sentimental attachment so many fan felt towards him. Not me I'd hasten to add, I wanted him gone in 2007. Anyway, I'd like to think that Mkll won't get away with failure and bollocks comments for too long, but I'm not convinced.
The posters on this forum are nothing lie the average Arsenal supporter. I guarantee you that if a poll were taken, there would be overwhelming support for keeping him in place and praise for another "nearly" season, which it really hasn't been of course. I guy I know pretty well was heavily involved in the Wenger out and Kroenke out campaigns and he's a proper dyed in the wool Gooner, travels home and away and was at the game in Paris last night. His views have always aligned with most of us on here, but I last exchanged messages with him a couple of months ago and he was fervently pro Arteta. I was very surprised tbh, but I doubt he's changed his opinion so far. My point is that he is far from the usual dumb sheep type of supporter that we have so many of, but he's not ready to change the manager and if he's a barometer, then Arteta will be around for a long time yet.
As SteveO says, the Kroenkes are happy as long as the pound notes keep rolling in and there's no sign of that stopping any time soon.

I think there is more to it than money though - in my opinion we are the most social media aware club in the premier league and as a result are afraid to make decisions which will upset our fans in social media world (even though most are from africa and have never been to a game
}. We have too many fans who are basically sheep and afraid to think for themselves - if they see an online campaign backing the manager or captain, then that is who they fall in with regardless of what they see on the pitch. If you have football people running your club then they will assess things on a football level, but if you have businessmen (regardless of nationality) then they will go by what they think the customer base wants, and that is what kept the french cock in situ long after he should have gone, and that is what will keep cone boy in a job when he should be gone

What he says between: 1'.30" and 1'.50" is astounding...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... 0y0z01p2go
He talks about 'Being in the boxes' (the penalty area) and that there is a Goalkeeper AND "most of the time a striker"
Can he not 'See' that what he is saying is confirming what we all Know and have been saying all Season about the Absolute Necessity for a Striker...
He really looks like he is losing it it is both Alarming and Sad.

We had a host of huge chances across both games and failed to make them count simple as that. One goal across 180 minutes of football ain’t going to get the job done.
A top class striker would have put us through over the tie I’m absolutely convinced of it and there’s blood on then hands of everyone involved in the club who made the decision to exit last summer without signing one.
Gross negligence.
