I hate that “siuuuuuuuuuu” shire linked to Ronaldo, too. It’s died down a bit now but it was fucking annoying.
I also hate the fucking songs they play at the start of the show on TNT or any live Premier League game on sky - fucking god awful.

Expected assistsArsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 8:08 pmI know it has been said on here any million times before but I just want to add, again, how much I despise that xG stat shite.
Just everything in this article, to be honest.

Surely that’s dependent on who you’re passing it to! With our lack of a striker we can’t have had too many expected assists this season!

That is one of many many things that irritates the fuck out of me about nearly all these modern commentators - they are desperate to have that "it's up for grabs now" moment, and so many of them very obviously have a couple of phrases written down in advance for every game hoping they get to use them. Fucking melts.Perryashburtongroves wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:13 pmBarry Davies was always the best. Just commentated on the game and didn't fuck about trying to be part of the 'experience'. I used to like Moore as a kid and he's always associated with us and those famous words in 1989. Never liked Motson or that fat manc twat Tyldesley. Most of them these days are obsessed with trying to create an 'iconic moment', trying to pretend that a two-yard tap in at the back post in mid-January is somehow a 'massive moment.'Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:04 pm
Absolutely agree with this and glad someone else has noticed it. He drives me nuts, always heavy on the hyperbole and coming out with all manner of inane, pseudo intellectual clap trap. These type of prats are trying to build an identity and a career for themselves, but they'd get more respect just commenting properly on the game.
Motson and Davies always stood out as quality commentators in my opinion. Was never keen on Brian Moore, who was a founding father of the more excitable and over the top approach, although nowhere near as bad as the clowns we have now. Funnily enough, Tyler gets some stick on here, but always quite liked him.

There was always Alan Green who used to say things as he saw them . Then he had the temerity to fall out with Fergie at United and disappeared from the scene soon after.

Drury's " It's beginning to look a 'SLOT' like Christmas " when the Dippers won a game pre Christmas being a case in point.DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed May 14, 2025 7:48 amThat is one of many many things that irritates the fuck out of me about nearly all these modern commentators - they are desperate to have that "it's up for grabs now" moment, and so many of them very obviously have a couple of phrases written down in advance for every game hoping they get to use them. I always thought Greene was a horrible biased Liverpool fan. Never hid his hatred for Arsenal .

I'll tell you why, it's because they are unable to communicate what is going on on the pitch in a coherent manner.

The other pile of shit is Sly Sports News.
Back in the day it was fairly watchable and felt like the presenters had some kind of journalistic training.
Now it's like the presenters are a bunch of social media wannabes and it's a fucking horrendous watch. Seems to coincide with Sly being bought by Comcast.
Can't even tune in just to eyeball Fat Nats Knockers

Isn't that a sad indictment of the modern game?...Sweet FA about the Cup Final, all talk about the playoffs for teams not good enough to be properly promoted.
