ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

The name of Viktor Gyökeres has been discussed in conversations internally at Arsenal. But it is our understanding that he is not the first choice for the club. The door can never truly be shut but there seems to be a desire for a different set of skills.

Yeah, skills that won't show up Havertz.

Hojlund proved again tonight that the level.of the league you are coming from when joining a Premier League club cannot be overlooked.
He is out of his depth in England, and that is my fear about signing a striker from the Portuguese league.

Maybe and I too have reservations about Gyokeres, but if that's your fear, just wait until you see Sesko.

A modern day version of peter crouch - unless cone boy plans on going route one tactics next season, or unless we are thinking of getting an ex wimbledon manager to replace the cone boy, I really dont see point in signing sesko

Goojlund never had anywhere like gykores stats to be fair

I have reservations over him as his time at Coventry was average but would prefer him to sesko. Surely the weight of goals means he has something

As I’ve said before augie, it would never surprise me if Lego Head is only looking to sign a forward that won’t be a guaranteed starter. If he signs a top quality, goal scoring CF, then Havertz or Odegaard are on the bench. Can’t see him making that decision, so a squad type forward who can be rotated in and out will fit the bill.

We’ll see, but this is going to be an interesting transfer window. I think Arteta’s position depends on it.

I have severe Fabio Vieira PTSD to be in anyway enthusiastic about signing anyone else from that goat herders league.

My prediction is that we will end up with a Havertz clone. So a pretty pointless signing. Otherwise we need to fundamentally change our style of play, which we won’t see. I would prefer Gyokeres to Sesko. He just looks like he wants to score goals. That is what we need. Someone who gambles on crosses and gets himself in where he needs to be. A proper fox in the box.

Makes sense. Martinelli has reached his ceiling and is worth more than Trossard will be when we sell him.

There’s no way that we aren’t signing a left winger this window, so either Trossard or Martinelli we’re always going to be sent packing

For most people the saying is that "if it aint broke then dont fix it" - for the cone boy it's "if it is broke still dont bother to fix it cos I'll spout bollox about the great players we have and the fans will forget that they werent good enough for a reason" :banghead: :banghead:
Trossard, for what we paid for him, was a bargain, but now it's time to move him on - as I keep saying, running a successful club needs good house management, and when there are saudi clubs allegedly willing to pony up hard cash for a soon to be 31 year old trossard, then grabbing the money is the only correct decision here

I like the look of Sesko you know. Younger. Proven in a better league. I can see why is preferred choice.
