This is what I don’t understand. Regardless of our personal opinions on Cunha, if Arteta and his backroom team thought that he was the answer back in January, what has changed? Why give Utd a free run at it now?
All this tells me is that our transfer policy is completely lacking in planning and relies on knee jerks responses to each perceived emergency situation. It explains the high number of deadline day signings.
Still, I suppose it only confirms what most of us already knew.
Most of the stuff written most likely bare no relation to what is actually going on behind the scenes at the club.
Well, it’s possible that we were never interested in Cunha I suppose, but it was widely reported, so I strongly suspect we were.
Either way, seems to be fuck all planning in our transfer strategy. It’s always as painful as fuck.

Personally cunha wouldnt be on my list at all - good player I agree, but disciplinary issues would be a red flag for me. That being said, I do agree with you that IF we were interested in him in January, why would we step back and allow a club that hasnt qualified for europe and hasnt got a pot to piss in, a free run to sign him now ? The world and its mother knows that manure are broke so it wouldnt be hard to financially outmuscle them, plus unless the player in question is a born and bred red manc, then he will choose a champs league club over them every time

Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Mon May 26, 2025 6:54 pmIt is now Arsenal that is pushing the hardest to sign Julian Alvarez. The former Atletico director, Andrea Berta, knows perfectly what Julian can give and has put his name among the priorities for the window. [@marca]
Cannot see any truth in this at all - citeeh sold him for over £80m and ath madrid will obviously want a profit on him, so I cant see us being interested in him at all. For me if we were going to spend mega money on a striker then isak would be the choice, but injuries are an issue there of course

No Rodrygo then. What a shame, he'd have been an exciting player to have in the team.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
As is usual for this time of the year, in fact until the Transfer Window Opens and then Closes there are going to be countless, countless rumours of all sorts, mostly all Bollocks.
So until I actually see a player stepping onto the pitch in the Red & White of Arsenal, I don't give Any Creedence whatsoever to what the Media and all the other Pathetic Fan podcasts etc say...in fact I go out of my way to avoid them. Because it's all just 'Click Bait' in the end the more 'clicks', 'likes' or 'dislikes' they get the more money they get.
We have already been linked with 9 players....and that's before the window has even opened (***)

Due to an exceptional registration period for the expanded Club World Cup, the transfer window will open early between Sunday June 1 and Tuesday June 10. It will then open again on Monday June 16 until Deadline Day on Monday September 1.

A friend of a friend who claims to work at Arsenal reckons we are trying to sign both Sesko and Gyokeres.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Again the club has made a decision that baffles me - Jack Henry Francis has been released by the club with his contract now expiring. I have never seen the kid play so dont know if he is good enough or not, but he has been on bench for first team for every game in last 2 months so you would think that points to a young player impressing enough to be in matchday squad
Why include him in matchday squad if the plan was to release him ? Surely it would make more sense to bring up a player that you rate so that he can gain experience from being involved ?

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Thanks for that Midz
What I will say though, is that by all accounts the player himself is not happy there, and if he pushes to leave then he will go somewhere although probably not to us anyway

The plan is to sign half of one and half of the other and try and pay half the combined price. Then play them as the fourth choice keeper we seem to need to buy every few weeks.Limerick Gooner wrote: ↑Tue May 27, 2025 6:13 pmA friend of a friend who claims to work at Arsenal reckons we are trying to sign both Sesko and Gyokeres.
