ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
The timing is unbelievable, we let him go and he’s charged . Doesn’t look good on us . Blimey they are serious charges , surely Arsenal knew there were 3 potential victims (not scouser victims) and played him . Now I know innocent until proven guilty but when 3 accuse someone it’s a touch iffy .

Was he one of the Dial Square "Ultras", cutting up rough on Plumstead Common?

Ah, so he looks like Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

I knew them both, but could never tell them apart. Mind you, I was very young of course. I used to call our dear leader “Uncle DB”.
Just realised, sounds a bit dodgy.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Throwing this question out to you guys….I’ve seen very little of Rodrygo and when I have seen highlights of RM games where he’s played I haven’t taken much notice, so how good is he?
Is he someone we should sign and especially for a big fee?
I’m fed up with buying players that the teams we’re supposed to be competing with are discarding, whether that’s Chelsea, City, or RM. I know that some players have come good, Salah a prime example, but that is the exception to the rule and our record of buying cast-offs is dire….all the crap from Chelsea, Jesus and Zinchenko from City and Odegaard from RM is hardly a roaring success is it?
So how many of you fellas would buy Rodrygo if he can’t make the RM side?
As an aside, I’ve always been a fan of Martinelli and still believe there’s a top player in there (I know loads of you don’t agree) and it’s very possible he’ll go if we buy Rodrygo. Still, please don’t just say yes to signing him because you think he’ll be better than Gabi, I want to know if he’s the quality we need.

Emphatic Thynker, even if lacking in detail.

What makes me uneasy is that I have no faith in Lego Head’s judgement. He’s bought no end of duds and no one that has come from a competitor club has been any good.

Are we still in a period of respect to the scousers ? Zubimendi was meant to be announced yesterday but we couldnt announce it for fear it would be seen as disrespectful (
) and now we didnt announce it today either and I assume we wont announce it tomoro with jota's funeral on tomorrow - fcuking comically shit at this stage

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Partey might have been nicked a day earlier..............but out of respect for Jota ol plod gave it a day.augie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 8:53 pmAre we still in a period of respect to the scousers ? Personally I would buy him - my reasons for this are as follows
1. He didnt shine as brightly at madrid last season, but tbf in a team of high profile superstars around him (mbappe and vini jnr) he was always gonna be in the shade. Coming to us would give him the platform to be a star and I would be telling him that it is up to him now
2. I have always maintained that proper big clubs (not one's who just like to talk big) need to make at least one big signing a season - yes there are commercial benefits of course, but more importantly it is a statement of intent to your rival clubs
3. He isnt a chav reject and a better option imo than some of the other options mentioned

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
The clubs PR team will be in full on shit the bed mode now about when to announce the Zubimendi signing and not just because of the timing around the Jota death/funeral.
The main reason will be the guy he’s coming in to replace is now all over the news so they’ll want to distance Zubimendi from all that. They may have pulled the plug on yesterday regardless of Jota if they knew the Partey story was breaking today.

Well, announcing it yesterday would involve inventing time travel at this stage so that would be a bit of a big deal.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 11:11 pmAnnounce today, Announce tomorrow, Announce next week ,Announce yesterday.what does it matter .
