ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Every one of his 39 league goals last season. I have to say the terrible defending, atrocious goalkeeping and huge amount of penalties (which he won’t get here) absolutely terrifies me.

He’s guaranteed at least 10 against the skid mark 5!
Are the scum and united the extra 2 teams on top of the promoted trio? :coffeespit:

Watching those goals of his at least shows someone who gets in the right place to score goals. We haven't even had that in about ten years. A lot of penalties, yes and fishermen's league defending , yes. Looks like Scottish league level and to be honest, I'd have had Henrik Larsson if we'd needed him at a similar stage of his career. Perhaps even a Mark Hatley or Ally Mccoist. If you know where the goal is and where you need to be, you'll score more than enough with better service.
Having said all that, we'll finally get a goalscorer and then start trying to shoot from 35 yards every time we have it.

sesko seems more rounded but not as prolific yet.
May I ask how? Not trying to be funny/sarcastic or anything like that - I genuinely don’t see what others do in Sesko, so I’d like an honest opinion/breakdown of him.

The most I’ve gotten so that he can score long range goals in the German League (how many of the 15 he’s scored - also long range goals aren’t a measure of a good striker) and he can jump high. I don’t quite see how he’s the striker to take us forward.

Again, not digging you out mate, or any Sesko fan, I just would like to know why.
I'm only going on what I've read tbh , opinion is he has better touch, awareness brings others into the game , his finishing is the bit that needs working on. Vik seems more raw power, direct but a good finisher but may go missing in games pretty much like Haaland I guess but the end of the day we have other players to do the creative work especially if we get Eze which I'd love.

The part that baffles and amuses me (and I'm not calling out any specific poster here) is when people refer to sesko as more rounded while acknowledging that right now gyokeres is a better finisher - is there anything more fundamental for a striker than finishing, so how can he be classed as more rounded if he isnt at least equally as good at finishing ?? :? It's like saying one keeper is more rounded than another even though the "less rounded" is better at making saves
I suppose we were spoilt where Henry was both creative and a finisher ot wright's level of course who is still the best finisher I've seen at Arsenal.
As I said we need goalposts and the swede hopefully can provide that.

🚨🇸🇪 Viktor Gyökeres has accepted to give up €2m from his salary in order to facilitate negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting.

Sporting insist on higher fee compared to Arsenal proposal…

…and Gyökeres tries his best also giving up money to make it happen, as per Record.

If he signs then i hope he does well for us. Watching that video I thought Havertz would have missed 50% of those goals if not more, so we'll wait n see.

Madueke for £50m. Nwaneri for £30 plus add ons. We are going to have to top up the swap deal with cash.
Mate, you are now borderline WUMing. I'm getting a lot of complaints about you again. Take it down a notch. Cheers.

No idea who Bobby P is.

I know someone who knows someone who works at Chelsea.
No you don't.

There is something sad and desperate about people that pretend to be ITK on a football forum. You are alienating a lot of the regulars on here with this horseshit. Time to give it a rest OK.

In fairness if they completed deals quickly I'd have nothing to post on here except tumbleweeds ,and I know nobody on here wants that

Viktor #Gykores to #Arsenal from #SportingCP is at the final stage for €80M (bonuses included). Contract until 2030. The swedish player was #AFC’s main target as striker since September as an exclusive revealed. Gyokeres has received several bids, but wanted Gunners. #transfers

Sesko will probably end up at the scousers, Klopp pulling the strings at red bull these days.
