Martinelli's stock is so low because of the abusive comments made all over the media by people that in the main only watch him on T.V.
Television doesn't show the pitch just the immediate vicinity of the ball . In the ground you can see him making runs from the outside whilst the ball is played short to Saka.
I accept that people will argue that he doesn't take his chances but in my opinion he snatches at things because of a sense of desperation ,were he he used properly he would relax and return to the player that first arrived.
If he does leave , a team that moves the ball quickly through midfield will see his benefits and then everyone will slag us off for selling him.
Do you reckon Martinellis made look worse than he is because so much of our play get focused down the right via Saka and an overlapping white?

If ohdeargod stayed in a more central position and distributed more evenly would MArtinelli look a better player?
Yes . I've lost count of the times that the simple ball is on and then Odegaard does a pirouette and heads for Saka.

Not buying the Martinelli revisionism. Running into the full back with his head down is fucking infuriating as is shooting straight at the keeper when through one on one. We absolutely must upgrade that position before the start of the season.

I believe if we buy eze and play him in the disappearing captain's position, within a month you will see an improved martinelli and a more potent team - we are predictable because our supposed creative midfielder (LOL) is predictable and slow in his play, and eze would make a massive difference in the 10. Word of warning though, buy eze to play on the left wing and be ready for the media and opposition fans to be cunting him off and labelling him as a waste of money before halloween
