Ade Stays!
I'd be amazed if anything other than a minority sing the Ade song at Fulham.rtpgooner wrote:so to people going to fulham on saturday or any home and away games this season. will you sing adebayors song? As although i wasnt there i understand that is where it started last year.
Its a shame though, because the romantic part of me would love to hear 4000 strong, belting out the Ade song, as a way of saying, "ok..you've been a complete tool over the summer, but for the good of Arsenal FC...we're 100% behind you Ade! now go and score some goals!"

Of course, this sadly will never happen

Agree. would also love to hear the whole 4000 of us jumping up and down belting out the eduardo song which seems to off got across quite well to fans, from here and in the rocket on saturday as it was there "new chant of the month" Apparently we were the first to come up with the "torres song" according to the rocket, years a go about sol leaving the lane ,but it never took off as sol had so many songs.g88ner wrote:I'd be amazed if anything other than a minority sing the Ade song at Fulham.rtpgooner wrote:so to people going to fulham on saturday or any home and away games this season. will you sing adebayors song? Pretty much agree with the last part of what Galasso said at the bottom of the 1st page - as much as I still cant really stand the guy (Adebayor, not Galasso).
I really cant understand the logic of people saying they wont celebrate when Adebayor scores from now on (that‘s not in response to Augie‘s comment btw as I don’t think that’s what he was saying). Surely as a Gooner whenever we score you celebrate the fact that we - Arsenal! - have scored before you celebrate the fact that whichever individual got the goal. Sure there’ll be exceptions when the fact that a certain player scored makes it all the more special (ie Eddie’s 1st goal after he returns
, Henry and The-Pr*ck-Formerly-Known-as-Wrighty breaking the record, Jensen breaking his duck
etc) but even then first and foremost Arsenal + goal = me + celebration.
Regarding his contract being described as long-term rather than a specific 4/5-years etc I wouldn’t read too much into that. That just seems to be the way football (and specifically Arsenal) does business these days - undisclosed fees etc.
As for the idea that his agent is solely responsible for this summer’s shenanigans I don’t doubt that the agent was the main instigator and probably the main source of (mis)information via the press but ultimately as a man (or a woman for that matter) you live and die by your own actions so Adebayor cant now hide behind the actions of a man he essentially employs to represent him. He had all summer to charge his phone battery and put to bed all the bullshit. But he didn’t.

I would never boo him but I think he disrespected the club and then dug a deeper whole with his piss poor excuse of his mobile being off. I will cheer every goal he scores because its for the team I love but I'll never sing the Ade song.
His lack of running and constant looking up to the sky when things were going wrong was irritating last year and he got 30 goals. After the summer, God help him this year if he was a one season wonder and shows the same petulance on the pitch.

One thing about Adebayor's perceptions by us fans is really confusing me!Cockerill's chin wrote:I would never boo him but I think he disrespected the club and then dug a deeper whole with his piss poor excuse of his mobile being off. You bemoan his lack of running, as do others, yet myself and others rate his work rate as his main asset! He makes openings for others even if he has a bad game (WBA aside, when he looked half asleep!)
Been a while since a player has thrown up such contrary opinions.
I can't help think this is the same kind of contract that JAR signed before he pissed off.
I'll never boo Ade (I don't have Sky & don't read the red tops so I don't know what he did or didn't say) but hopefully he realises now that he has a LOT of making up to do.
The best thing he can do is work hard, score goals, DON'T kiss the badge and maybe he'll regain the respect & goodwill he has lost.

What annoys me more is we wouldnt give flamini the extra 5k to stay yet we smash our wage structure to sh*t to keep a player who was under contract- yeah it might be to increase his market value but if im not mistaken he did sign a long term contract early last season?
Shame Im sure the catalans would have loved seeing him and henry do their little dance in the nou camp.

Both Barca and Milan pulled out of signing him so did we have to double his wages? If he has a poor season we are stuck with a player on a long term contract on huge money with no hope of selling him for a decent priceDavrosG wrote:What annoys me more is we wouldnt give flamini the extra 5k to stay yet we smash our wage structure to sh*t to keep a player who was under contract- yeah it might be to increase his market value but if im not mistaken he did sign a long term contract early last season?

Agree with you on Flamini, the season has started and we are still looking for his replacement
