Adebayor - he needs to feel wanted

The way the guy and his agent conducted business over the summer was a disgrace and for that the guy will never be loved by the crowd again, especially given how we were treated by ashley cole, once bitten twice shy i think is the saying.

However, as I have been thinking about this more, my anger goes more and more towards the board. Arsenal and Arsene for years have banged on about 1 year contracts for over 30's and rigid wage structure, at the detriment to the team on several occasions (pires, cole -yes clichy is amazing and cole is a c**t but follow me here and this summer flamini) yet for some reason we seem to have taken leave of our senses and offered a play who only recently signed a new long term contract another deal with double your money that breaks the current wage structure?!

Now what example does this set to the rest of the squad, next time i want a contract and they say we have a rigid pay structure i threaten to move and bang i get a new pay structure busting deal. And how about new signings, same applies the whole wenger principle has been broken over this deal and for that adebayor can ask to be loved all he wants but i for one will never forgive the c**t.

Sainsburys.
sainsbutys where? sounds good, did you ask him who we are signing!! :D
It was last summer, the week before the season started. It just wished him well for the season and said I rated him as a player.
He said thank you.

On my way out, there was a kid of about seven wearing our home kit, walking in with his mum. So I told them that Adebayor was in the shop and they should maybe try and say hello.

The mum looks at me and says "What?", and the kid has a blank look on his face.

So I told them two more times and the woman says , "What on earth are you going on about, what is an Adebayor!!!?"

So I told her who he was and she said she did not know any of the players names, and the son did not seem to know him either, so I walked off!

You would think getting paid thousands upon thousands of pounds would make him feel wanted. :D

Vieira and Henry?

Let us be honest, if you were getting booed every week, you would want to leave, no matter how good you were getting paid. If Ade feels unwanted then he will leave as would most players.

I do agree with gus though, he has it all to prove again.

I'll starting cheering him and getting behind him on the day he :

1) Comes out and publically apoligies to the fans for being a crunt

2) Apologies for his useless agent trying to stir up shit just to get him a better contract

3) Informs us that he has sacked his agent and

4) Learns the offside rule.

Until then he gets silence from me. I'll cheer when he scores but I'll be cheering that Arsenal scored, not that crunt.

I dont remember Vieria or Henry's agent conducting themselves in quite such a fashion as Adebayor and both had given the club extended periods of excellent service and won trophies before they started hunting out bigger pay days.

I dont think he will ever do that, so im with REBEL suport him to get more goals, over 30 this season.

Vieira spent every summer seemingly on the verge of leaving, so did Henry, maybe not on their first season but soon after that, neither did they always come across too well. Vieira was reported to have said, in 2001

"I had a meeting with Arsene Wenger and the club's vice-chairman David Dein two days before I went on holiday. I told them I was not going to renew my contract for a third time, that I wanted to leave and that it was nothing to do with money because that was not an issue to me. I expect Arsenal to stand by a verbal agreement they have with me and I expect this to be sorted out before I return from my holiday. This is not about Arsenal, but about my personal ambitions as a player. I felt, and people should respect this, that I need a new challenge after five years at the club. I feel if I go to a new environment I can raise my game to a new level."

"I am not going to start the season with Arsenal. I have left. That's it and they know it. I will not move to Italy and I won't sign for another London club."

"If I've finally decided to stay, it's because I'm convinced that the club and I can reach new heights together. We have what it takes to go very far in the Champions League. And we can win the championship."

"I seriously considered leaving Arsenal, the interested clubs were great ones, If I ever leave Arsenal, it will be with my head held high and a mutual agreement from both parts. But I've never met any of these clubs' managers on a one-to-one basis."

Magic you are right about Vieira after 2001 but not about Henry the only time there was talk of him leaving was in 2006.

You are correct.

The Vieiera is leaving saga was way bigger than anything to do with Adebayor.

We had Vieira leaving nonsense three summers in a row, with the tabloids featuring regular outbursts supposedly from Vieira, which were then denied and attributed to a mysterious "Source".

Henry in 2006 was not much of a saga, it always seemed more driven by the papers and the player did not seem to do much to fuel anything. He signed his new deal the day after the season ended!

2007 was different, with Henry saying he was staying and then leaving. He never said he was going to leave, despite being left out of the team against Tottenham in December, so for some fans it was a shock.

Others though had seen writing on the wall, the injuries mounting, the pace going and the talk of tensions with Wenger, and guessed his time was up.
