Only being 16, Anfield & Parma don't really bring back memories for me, expect video footage which i love seeing
I wasn't born for Anfield & Parma i was very young for
But as IW8Goalmachine said Boro at home brings back good times
Ray Parlour made a return to Highbury when i had a look round the East Upper (where my Dad's seat was) & i remember how nice the pitch was looking
I wanted to make this a day as i was only starting to go to the Arsenal again after missing the 2001/02-2002/03 seasons (only went to Spurs homes & man utd away fa cup which i'm happy bout but i couldn't go through that again)
I remember taking a couple of pictures to remember the day of a start to a new season getting in as soon as the gates opened to read the programme & the Gooner

i took a brillant one of Henry & Bergkamp at KO which i've lost since

It was a nice summers day & we were champions which i keep remembing a song that was played that was champions (don't know what it was called but it was a remix sort of song)
We missed a couple of chances which Reyes hit the post
Henry put us in front with a lovely lob which the team were relaxed about during the 49 games run, includeing the fans
Boro got on level with us with again Job scoring at Highbury
Jimmy also scored again against Arsenal which pissed fans off
Then out of no where i remember a goal which Lehmann couldn't save
With me being quite pissed off with the team i shouted how can we lose now when we're so close
Bergkamp scored to make it 3-2 to them, another great season he had, 11 years he gave us his best
Bob scored for 3-3
When we liked Reyes he was on a great start of season run in which the fans went all over the place when he put us in the lead, i remembing flinging my Arsenal shirt all over the place
Then Thierry ended the match to make it 5-3 to the Arsenal
The songs at that point were great such as stand up for the champions & we're unbeatable, my all time prieod of time
I have many other times but Middlesboro i made a day out for & enjoyed so much
Blackburn was at home on the Wednesday that week but they say the rest is history

First things first, well done rebel on joining our 300 club, no hand shandies yet, you've got 100 more to go.

I was born in 89 in fact the birth of me and my sisters has been a bit of a good luck charm for the Gunners, I was born in the 88-89 season, my younger sisters were born in the 90-91 season and the 92-93 season.
I remember the comeback against Middlesboro very well undoubtedly in the top 5 games i've ever seen (in terms of quality of game as opposed to what was at stake).

I was four In 89 and all I can remeber from that night is being in a hospital, I was sat on my dads knee when Mickey scored and my dad jumped up and I went flying across the room!!!!!

I do remeber Jumping up and down in 94 when smudger scored tho.

The following year also has good memories Schwarz goal towards the end in the semi followed by Seamans Penalty heroics, we didnt win the cup again but that night was awsome.

I watched it with my dad in our quiet Berkshire village. When Thomas scored my dad yelled so loudly he woke up the entire village!
He recorded the last few minutes commentary onto our answerphone to annoy his then boss whenever he rang, and was (and still is) word perfect on the commentary from around David Pleat's "poetic justice" comments.....
The rest is history!

Much to my eternal shame I stayed at home and watched it on my own. I was so down after the last home match against Wimbledon, knowing that we'd blown such a huge lead over the scouse that I really could'nt see the slightest hope of winning the league for the first time since 71. After the scouse had beaten West Am 5-1 and we knew the enormity of our task I was even more depressed so decided to stay in while drowning my sorrows alone and was determined to not even get the slightest bit excited and just accept our fate. Needless to say, I ended up on the lounge floor in front of the tv absolutely besseching the ref to "blow the fuckin whistle" When I see Mickey's goal now it still raises the hackles on the back of my neck and brings a tear to my eye, this must be the ultimate in footballing moments and something that I'll take to my dying day with me. I do seem to remember making up for the lack of doing anything special for the match over the weekend tho, the scenes all over the red half of north London that saturday and sunday were amazing. Imagine being a spud that weekend LOL.

Although unable to get a ticket for that match, I remember Anfield '89 like it was yesterday!!

Like many others, I felt we had blown it in the home matches against Derby and Wimbledon. I mean, in those days no-one beat Liverpool at Anfield, and certainly not by two clear goals!!

None the less, I had a bet in the morning on us to win 2-1 or 3-1 (I couldn't see Liverpool not scoring at home, where they were almost invincible) out of hope more than expectation.

I got the beers in and had a steady stream of friends popping in and out of my house throughout the course of the evening. As the match progressed towards injury time, and the expressions of hard luck were being handed out to me, I was both drunk and emotional, realising that we had blown our best chance of title glory since 1971.

Then, then...well, we all know what happened next!! I went absolutely ape-shit, running up and down our street shouting and screaming how great Arsenal were!! Hearing the crys of joy coming out from other houses (lots of gooners where I live) and feeling like the world could end now and I wouldn't give a toss!

That final minute after Thomas scored - in which Mickey also stole the ball of a scouser on the edge of our box, sold a dummy and then played it cool as you like back to Lukic - seemed like the longest minute ever.

In fact, the only moments that felt longer was the time it took Michael Thomas to actually take the shot!! Like Chunky and I'm sure thousands of other gooners, those few seconds before Mickey scored seemed to go by in slow motion for me. I honestly thought he would get tackled by Ray Houghton before he got his shot off. In fact whenever I see that goal replayed, it still bemuses me how Houghton doesn't get to him in time!

18 years of hurt were ended that evening and I remember driving up to Highbury with my nephew and having a whale of a time singing, dancing and drinking outside the ground long into the small hours of the morning.

Arsenal winning the league at Anfield, Old Trafford, Spurs (twice).... coming back from 1-3 down to beat Boro 5-3. Great memories but, alas, I managed to miss the lot of them! Had to make do with TV.

I was in Copenhagen though to see Smithy score & at Wembley to see another Alan (Sunderland) score at the death v ManUre in 1979. I do though seem to have a wonderful knack of not being there at the right moment!!!

All I remember is thinking "oh no not again!" as MT had a virtually identical chance earlier!

It was like deja vu!

But then it went all different and all I could hear was scereaming and beeing grabbed by all sorts of people! My mate Damon was nowhere to be seen and I eventually saw him about 15 steps down the terrace!!

The weird thing was it kinda went quiet very quickly as people were thinking " hang on theres still time to go"!!

Fans' accounts of 26/05/89 would make for interesting reading.

Mucho congrats on the big 300 RG!!

I watched that match with my Dad and my younger bro in my Dad's living room (through nerves, I suppose). I was 21. It's funny how many people say that moment just before he shoots went into slow motion for them; it happened to me too. I just remember screaming "Shoot! Jaysus just f*cking SHOOT!"

When it went in I went into that slow motion pause thing that we all do when we're not sure if it actually went in. And then I heard the roar on the telly and saw the Gooners in the crowd jumping around and the players celebrating and before I knew it the cans of beer were flying and my bro and I were rolling around the floor screaming with joy.

The last minute or so felt like forever and I prayed over and over, "Please God, just give us this one. No matter what, just let us have this, please."

I met up later with some Gooner mates and we ended up celebrating in a local hotel's disco singing "Empty handed across the Mersey" to a huge group of holidaying Scousers in Pool jerseys. They bought us a few beers and congratulated us. Good lads all.

The celebrations went on all night back at my mate's place and on through Saturday and most of Sunday. It still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end when I see the goal and hear that famous line of comentary.

Pure magic.
