I should also say that even if the transfer window was extended by another month it still wouldnt cure the weaknesses we got. Wenger is kidding himself if he thinks 1 more player is going to make that big of a difference to this squad -

average keeper
average centre half partnership
below average centre midfield partnership
average striker partnership

Am I the only one questioning the rvp/ade partnership ? I thought last season before rvp's injury (well one of them anyway  ) that they didnt look as if they could play together and I thought the same today. Worrying doesnt even come close to how it looks all over right now  If it wasnt for the fact that the rest of the challengers for the top 4 (villa, toffees, citeeh and the scum) are even more shitty than we are then I would give up on top 4 right now

Has any other team in the history of English football ever managed to have an injury crisis in August? Wenger has weakened us over the last couple of years and it may well only be two games in but there has been nothing to prove that we are capable of winning a single honour this season. Arsene may well know but so too did George and this feeling of resignation amongst the fans reminds me of Graham's last days. We've got a limited midfield, big name exits, poor quality replacements and a complete lack of any star quality to turn games our way when needed. The side today depressingly reminded me of the mid 1990s after our 89 and 91 wins. We may well win a knock-out cup but we're a long way away from being able to challenge at the top.

Bloke hasn't learnt a thing in 4 years!!
THE SQUAD JUST AINT GOOD ENOUGH!!
I've not got a single UEFA badge but I could tell you
that there are at least 6 or 7 players at Arsenal that
just dont cut the mustard.
Now there's self belief and confidence in what you do is right,
but what Wenger is doing at the moment is at best stubborn
and at the very worst blind ignorance.
To persist in saying that the current group of players is good enough
to win trophies is sheer folly.I know this will upset a lot of you guys out there but its time we all woke up.

I don't know what you're all worried about. We're definitely still challenging for the title. I saw alot of positives out there today.

Bacary sagna is still learning his trade and can only get better

William Gallas is the best man for man marker we have - and doesn't let second rate cast offs give him the runaround.

kolo Toure is still learning his trade and can only get better.

Denilson is still learning his trade and can only get better. Added to that his 100%passing accuracy and his ability to not get blown over by a breath of wind is encouraging.

Eboue is still learning his trade and can only get better. He just need to remember to pass the ball ti his team mates and position himself somewhere around the middle. Top central midfielder today though.

theo Walcott is still leardning his trade and if i could remember what he looks like I'm sure I would say he can only get better.

Robin van Persie - is blah, blah, blah...hit the wall...blah balh...miss chances...

emmanuel adebayor - is still learning to look like he is interested but when he does he's going to be a hell of a players this season.

I'm very positive - all the team needs is everyone to get right behind them.

IT'S ALL OUR FAULT

   :? :? :?   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I thought the 'last days of George' midfirld was bad, but this was woeful.

I have long been an advocate of Wenger, and continue to be so, but one thing about this game rendered me speechless; if Denilson had such a poor game that he could not take a thrown-in according to the rules, and Jack Wilshere is deemed good enough to be on the bench, then why did Arsene persevere with the Brazilian when he was plainly drowning?

I don't wish to indulge in character assassination on the lad, but he should have been off at half-time and someone who can hold on to the ball brought on. Song would've done.

It's August; too soon to panic, but have we metamorphosised into a one-man team, where that one man is not available?

In his post match interview, Wenger said we were dominated in midfield (and by the way, who's fault is that then?). Yet, with Denilson having an absolute nightmare, what does he do? He replaces the centre-half Toure - who shouldn't have been playing in the first place in my opinion - instead of strengthening the indentifiable weaknesses in
midfield!! :banghead: :banghead:

Wenger also claimed that we competed well and deserved something from the match - even though we had the sum total of 1 shot on target.

The majority of Arsenal fans are going to have to come to terms with the fact that this season is sadly going to be a long and hard, and one we should face more with (rapidly deminishing?) hope rather than real expectation. :( :(

Quality, Galasso. 8)

If it were possible to deserve less than nothing from a game, than that's what we deserve.

We ere shit all over the park and this is not about injuries - it's about the failure to address the weaknesses and the thousands of questions hanging over the players this season.

I'm almost too fucked off for words  :D
