As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
If this does turn out to be true - and it would certainly appear likely, what on earth does this say about Wenger's forward planning for this season ?
He's had since last May to hone our squad for the big KO, which is now upon us. Yet it looks like he has given matters barely a passing thought as he anchored for French TV and let the world pass him by.
He's forever shooting his mouth off in the press about how he's been planning for the the'great young' revolution this last three years and his masterplan is on course etc. etc.
More and more he's starting to resemble someone who is just flying by the seat of his pants.
He'd better have something really special coming in sometime in the next week or "becoming legends" is going to be the least of our worries in the next 9 months.
If Senderos does go, as seems certain now, we are even shorter in this area than we were before. Since last season we have now lost Hoyte, Traore, Senderos and Gilberto who all had some defensive involvement. I'm not saying any of them were regular 1st team material but, with only Silvestre coming in, we have become weaker in a department where we were on our last legs from Christmas onwards anyway. What is going on?
1 signing was never going to fill all the gaps in our team and squad anyway but if we only make 1 signing now then it is an absolute disgrace and should see either the removal of the current board or the sacking of wenger on the spot You can make financial excuses for not enough signings but if we continue to strip down what was already the smallest squad in the top half of the premiership then there can be no excuse. How many times have we posted on here over the last 18 months bemoaning the lack of squad size and since then we have seen considerably more leave than come in. Are we that desperate for cash that we have to move players out on loan even just to get them off our wage bill ?
The way this club is being run borders on the embarassing
I'm not sorry to see Senderos go but we have to replace him with better. Ideally for me (and i have written this before) we needed to keep last seasons squad together and add 3-4 players to it. I cant understand whats going on!!!! I can imagine us signing no one before September 1st but lets face it even if we do it will only be 1 or a maximum of 2 this just isnt good enough after the players that have left
This could end up being a good move for both Senderos and the club. Big Phil gets to learn about 'proper defending' from the masters of it - the Italians.
Then, as already suggested by someone else, the 'new and improved' Senderos comes back to us before the start of next season just in time to replace Gallas, who will end up going back to France (probably to PSG). Or AC Milan decide to keep him and give us some money.

Seems like a win/win to me.
Something tells me that if he's a success at Milan (and I think he will be ) then the last thing he'll want to do is come back to the premier League.
I wish him all the luck in the world, but sadly I doubt we'll see him in the Charlton-like shirt of Arsenal again.

That's as close to sticking it in a nutshell as I could get.
Given who have departed we now need TWO midfielders and ONE (maybe TWO) defenders. And they have to be top drawer - not spotty teenagers from Kzachstan.
Is that really going to happen ?
I can honestly see one midfielder coming in - and that's it.
That will leave us demonstably weaker than last season. And that wasn't good enough as it stood.
