Senderos loaned to AC Milan!!

Good luck to Phil, the slower pace of the Italian league will suit his game. I cannot deny that he played with his heart on his sleeve but unfortunately he was never going t cut it in the Premier League and was found wanting for pace on too many ocassions. Good luck Phil, you wont be missed 8)

Senderos to AC Milan, Flamini there already guess where Cesc is heading next season?

Has Maldini retired or we getting him in exchange? Maybe 40 but still looked quality last season.

i like senderos as a player but for everyone moaning about how weak this leaves our squad blah blah we still have 5 centre backs at the club even chelsea dont have that many, okay silvestre may have to cover at left back and song in midfield but if we bring in a centre mid that shouldnt have to happen.

I do think our squads weak but if there were two places you would remove one from if you had 2 it would be striker or centre back. Good luck Swiss!

LB - Clichy LB Cover - Traore out on loan, Silvestre?
RB - Sagna RB Cover - Hoyte sold, Eboue incompetent
CB - Toure (Unfit, out of sorts)
CB - Gallas (Way off form)
CB Cover - Djourou, Song (...who is actually a midfielder?) Senderos gone.
As pinted out by someone else, we have Silvestre for Left Back and Centre Back cover.

We also have Kieran Gibbs to cover left back.

Gavin Hoyte is cover for left and centre back too.

How many times have we posted on here over the last 18 months bemoaning the lack of squad size and since then we have seen considerably more leave than come in. Are we that desperate for cash that we have to move players out on loan even just to get them off our wage bill ?

The way this club is being run borders on the embarassing   :banghead: :banghead:
No disrespect to Swiss Phil, but I never thought I would read such angst at his departure!

Subject to a medical, I'm surprised we have players who can pass a medical looking at our sick list!

Good luck to him, he tried his best but never quite made it. At least he looked like he wanted to play for The Arse.

Then, as already suggested by someone else, the 'new and improved' Senderos comes back to us before the start of next season just in time to replace Gallas, who will end up going back to France (probably to PSG). Or AC Milan decide to keep him and give us some money.

Seems like a win/win to me. 8)
That's fine. As long as we had someone in the squad who could head the ball out in defence and replace Toure, even on loan, then this move would be good for us and the squad. He is 23 so his positional sense and concentration still needs work and there can be few better to help improve that side of his game then Maldini and co. His lack of pace doesn't itself have to be a problem in Italy or even here as long as he improves those two sides of him

However we don't have another tall centreback to break up Toure-Gallas partnership and unless we get one in, we are in deep trouble.

werent he an cesc very good mates. theyre always runnin around in trainin together... i really hope we get alonso. i think weve got enough defenders to cover. were not chelsea who have a cover for every position. we gotta adapt. silvestre can do descent at cb if someone is injured. but again we need alonso. no barry. no way.

im very surprised they took him actually = lets face it hes not very good

wonder how many games he will play for them - they used to def like nesta

the game is played a little slower so he will have more time on the ball to help him with hopeless first touch

i dont think he's PL material

good news is that he deserves the chance and is a great guy and I wish him well and fingers crossed

good luck Phil

Why only a years loan?If he fucks up in Milan like he did for us we will get him back next year. Its obvious Wenger doesnt rate him anymore.
For those who say we are short of CH"s we have Gallas,Toure,Silvestre,Djourou and Song.We are not short on Quantity just Quality :banghead:

Yeah but as magic has pointed out none of those can or will head the fucking ball which might be ok for indoor football but not for this game  :banghead:

My angst(as quartz put it) at senderos going is not at missing phil the player but I am really really fed up with wenger and the board chopping our squad to bits leaving us with the smallest squad not just in quality but also quantity. As flash and many many more have siad before we needed to increase the size of the squad this summer and all we seem to have done is decrease it yet again and it seems to me that we are on a kamakaize mission. As I have said before the club cannot keep increasing the cost of our tickets if they are going to continually handicap our chances at winning anything (yes even the beer cup) but leaving us with just a handful of quality players backed up by a few unproven kids and some sub standard players. It appears that we are supposed to keep throwing money at the club but have no right to expect anything in return  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Agree Augie

But is it the board saying to Wenger have a clearout and cut the wage bill and not giving him any transfer funds or is Wenger being subborn and even if the money was available he just wants to win the title with kids.
Wenger made the amazing comment at the end of last season that winning wasnt everything and that he would never change his principles just to win trophies. Arsene winning IS everything

Augie's right about bringing in the issue of the cost to us
of watching Arsenal,I remember as if it were yesterday
a certain Messers Fiszman and Endleman telling us all
how we would now,I re-iterate NOW,be able to compete
financially against the likes of Man U,Madrid,Barca and
to an extent Chelsea.
Now I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I've got a
feeling someone's not telling the truth!
The fact is since so wonderfully winning the Premiership
we've gone backwards, simple as that, last season we
massively overachieved, which I think even took Wenger
by surprise.I just get the feeling that any on field success
we may get will never reach the heights of a few years ago.
Which brings me back to Augies point about the prices at Arsenal,
we are paying very high prices to watch our beloved team, but
I just feel we're being badly shortchanged.

A half decent manager (shankley) once said "winning isnt everything...its the only thing" and you cant disagree with that 8)
