usual thread starter... i think people could have lived with the gradual clearing out of the unbeatables team if alternative experience had come in to steady the ship. but we have been so far off the pace in the last two campaigns that gunners are treading unfamiliar waters in our premiership standing. we are now competing for a top 4 place rather than the title.

interesting to see that gallas was made captain rather than lehmann for last night's friendly - one of the few seriously experienced players left in the team.

what also had to be done was getting some new boys in and Arsene my trust in him is supreme but the doubts are niggling away at me and plenty others all the time.

I read the first part of the article, probably 1/3 of it and didn't bother to read the rest. Again I see the same old story, we need money and a billionaire investor is the way to get the money. But again I read nothing to inform me what is better about the billionaire investor. Can you say for certain that what Liverpool and Man U have done in the transfer market can be repeated next year, and the next? No!!! Because if success does not come, those clubs will be in such bad shape financially it could spell the end of them. The numbers do not add up my friend. Arsenal's plan is more sustainable and what these so-called investors are after is the reward that is due to the people who have funded the club and the stadium. If you do not think they have funded the club well think about it, who would have a GBP150m investment and not ask for dividends? Only the Arsenal shareholders / investors, out of love for their club. The billionaire would want to service his debt, not even in dividends but interest payments, which would leave little for investment in the club. Then we would have no sustainable investment plan because the numbers would not allow it. If you really believe in the foreign investment option, show me the numbers. Show me that it would work, not just for one year but for the 10 years debt they would pile on the club's books. Then I will agree with you.

er.....yeah I'm sure he knows plenty about American Football, Baseball, Basketball and Ice Hockey.

And of course the Hill Woods involvement in English football goes back 80 years, so why would you suspect that they know nothing, or less than a an American would.
