Alcohol

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My body is a temple, I restrict myself to water taken from a spa in Donegall and a single sniff of flat Budweiser once a month. Anything else, and I am incapable of functioning.

I would certainly never dream of drinking two Stellas every night as a way of relaxing, plus wine regularly with lunch, Guinness at the pub and the odd vodka, port or gin and tonic. That would be madness.

The thought of going home and opening a nice bottle of red is very disturbing to me!

Nearly as disturbing as going down the local after work for a few pints of Arthur!

Plus in N Ireland we get raped by publicans over the price of alcohol. Where I live, a small, quiet market town, I paid 3 pounds 10 pence for a bottle of Corona on Sunday with my dinner
Exactly the same as me mate, it takes me days to recover and I thought I was the only one! My mate's can drink and drink and be absolutely fine the next day.. quite annoying.

It's about the same price here in London, if not more. But I guess that's to be expected in the capital
Snap. If I have a big session on the sat night, I'm still feeling the effects throughout the week. is it really worth it?!?!
What the hell are you guys drinking that you're still feeling it maybe a week later?  :drunk:
A pint of lager if you're offering

lol I don't stray too far from lagers to be honest, will occasionally attack the vodka or some red wine if I'm in the mood but the hangovers are just hellish these days, it's really quite distressing!

If you're suffering from a hangover you're probably drinking mass produced chemical filled shite.

Decent wine and ale doesn't give you one. If you must have 'named' lager I recommend bottles of Becks. It's the way it's brewed.

I'm on the wagon at the moment. I have done the same thing for the past couple of years, where I stop drinking towards the end of Summer and start again at the beginning of December. I always feel very healthy in the Autumn!

Do any of ye know that if to much alcohol is drunk it effects your coordination and ability to make love, except in women.(it just makes them randy).
It does however give you the most beautiful voice which you will use for the happiness of all
Plus, all the Worlds problems become easier to solve.

tbh not a lot  I would drink maybe 8 Bicardi and diet Coke and that would be enough to leave me "hanging" for days :? Maybe about half dozen Corona would do the same, I just have to say I don't do well with alcohol so it is easier just to drink a soft drink.

Maybe I will give Becks a try one night

In my experience I found that Stella can be deadly if drunk in mass and too quick. Its something to do with zink.
I find Bud quite easy to drink on a hot day or in the pub but its easy to down half a bottle of vodka a day.
Some nights out with food its more like a bottle so it has to be watched. Point of the thread was just to point out that if you drink alot bad things can happen without any warning by just overdoing it. Even if you drank responsibly for 2 years it would only take one night to ruin all that.
I still love the booze but it can be dangerous stuff.

Definitely agree about the chemicals in the lager over here, they give you a really thick head in the morning
I was in France for a week this summer and drank a fair amount of Kronenbourg 1664 and no trace of a hangover

If you're still feeling the effects after a night out then Camomille Tea is pretty good for settling the stomach and getting you "cleared out" 8)

I feel free to say that now rebel has come out of the closet and there are more women on the forum

You can go 2 years drinking normally and then you have one night where you get it all wrong and act like a friggin Arse.
Even in my mid thirties I still frack up on the stuff from time to time.
Its funny you get people like Robbie Williams who drank heavily for one year and then complains he is a Alcoholic (not) then you get the sad way the Gazza has fallen.
Merson was back on the beers last year but seems to be OK. Thing is you can have a great night out on the booze but its always possible to make that mistake and dont remember where you were or what you did.
well i gave up Drink in january.
But i gave in in the middle of july :banghead:
I feel kinda guilty about NOT being able to stop altogether,But..........ITS SOOOOO FUCKING HARD :banghead:
