As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Good Old Arsenal would go some way to solving that one, IMO.

It probably would but I bet you would still get people moaning about it.
As the saying goes "you cant please all the people all the time"
I still believe the song "A Goal" which was on one of our cup final cd's is far and away the best choice available. I like the way it is a song that is actually about our club and lists the honours we had won at that time plus I think that it has a chorsu that might even get the fans joining in. I should point out though that the song is sung by finbarr wright so may be pavarotti style but I can email it to someone if they know how it could be put up on here if indeed it is possible

Ok it is not an anthem as such but who gives a toss it got the crowd going!
First season at the Grove we had the intro for Kasabian - Club Foot on a loop. Now that was fucking class.
If they did have Good Old Arsenal it'd have to be the original (granted dated but best) rather than the new version they had the last few seasons at Highbury which incorporated the french national anthem into it, was quite tacky.

We could get the metropolitan police band back and do the proper intro too.
Watch from 2 mins to get the full flavour, 2' 30" if you want a good run in or 3' 10 for the short intro.
Its probably the rule britannia, last night of the proms thing that puts the club off. I remember when this was adopted. It was fecking embarassing. it was the 71 season and the TV guys were bemoaning the fact that Arsenal didn't have a song and I think it was Jimmy Hill started a competition to find one for us. Good old Arsenal was the result.
As was said, "right her, right now" got the crowd going, especially on the night games at Highbury, you could just hear the intro and the crowd would slowly rise then when the players emerged, it was a very loud cheer then it all went quiet and everyone sat back and drank there bovril
To be honest its wouldnt be my first choice, Good Old Arsenal my fave.....BUT its just a fucking song
Does anyone really believe that we could get the whole stadium singing the same song before the game?(no matter what the song). Were not liverpool......AND WE DONT NEED TO BE!!!!!
I also dont think it makes the slightest difference to the players.
Remember when the vote was set up to pick the song (Red Action, i think), and at the time "The Impossible Dream" was clear favourate.....How shit would that have been! If wonder of you is a bit dreary imaging coming out to that....the players would have to wait in the tunnel for about 10mins for the song to get near the end.
Anyway as far as i remember the vote seemed to just dissapear and it was the club who finally made the choice.
....what happened to this vote? Did Elvis win????
For the moment anyway i think having Elvis is better then nothing.
