Arsenal v Fulham is now sold out.
I think Rad is right. Its just because of the school holidays. Same thing every year.

Mark Poom was in the seats behind the dug-out all season ---I sit in block 2 nearby.augie wrote:For those of you that wonder how touts source their tickets now I can enlighten you...club staff. Last season I brought the good wife to London for the weekend (as you do) and it was the weekend of the boro match. While in the hotel lobby I was informed by a porter that they have a "broker" than can obtain tickets for matches and events in london and even though I had been to the emirates for the villa game 2 wks previous I managed to persuade the missis (a lapsed fan) that we should get 2 tickets for the game. The tickets in question seem to be in the section for staff members(we were in the row behind mart poom & his family) and had no price on them and the cost of these tickets ? Only(??) £300 stg for the pair. Even though that cost was shocking I still have the mobile number of the broker in question in case my usual supply of tickets dry up but if he charges £150 per ticket for boro I shudder to think what he would charge for a big game.![]()

We used to get tickets through touts all the time and they screwed it to us (deffo no oo-er missus

Back in the mid to late 90's we also used a bloke in Picadilly tube stop called Les, a big fat thief. He was a "ticket agent" - more like a tout in reality - and he did the West End shows and gigs as well. We'd book our tickets over the phone and when we went to his stall to collect them the crunt would pull out a huge wad of Arsenal tickets. An example of his prices; He'd be selling NB Lower (£25 at the time I think) for £80 if it was West Sham or Derby Co and £150 (or more) if it was Manure or The Mousers. I'd hate to think what that beached whale charges now, if that Big Mac addiction hasn't offed him.

On the original point, more red members might add to the atmosphere (God I hope so) but I've seen quiet sections in there too, so who knows?

My real fear (and I've said this from day one about The Grove) is that if we lose Wenger and what's left of our big name players and we get in another Bruce Rioch and we stop winning and the footy is sh*te then we will deffo struggle to fill that big shiny new stadium. My personal opinion is that we would probably still sell 40000 seats, no matter what, every game. But the stadium is a 60000 seater. Then what do we do? Give nearly half the stadium over to the oppo? Doesn't bare thinking about.

I hate being negative like this, and it is a worst case scenario, but it is possible...
... and no, Augie, I still don't believe Satan Stan is the answer!!

BTW; TS - where has your ultra-cool Gilles avatar gone? I miss it.

never had 2 buy off a tout thank fu*K,, whenever i went over ,,used 2 stay in my sisters who lived in reading,, she worked for the pru as a pa and her boss had contacts at highbury so on my trips over the tickets were there waitin 4 me,, shes back in ireland now so had 2 go back begging the arsenal for tickets,,,
guess im lucky enough that my sc are well in at the grove so we allways get matches that we ask for

Dicko your statement that poom was behind the dugout all season is b*llshit cos I will stand up in court and swear (if need be) that he sat in front of me at the boro game last season. We were sitting in the upper tier in the corner right above the red action singing section so I think you should check your facts mate before you correct someone.

Average games that go on sale to Red members do indeed sem a bit louder. However, please don't forget the atmospheres for Chelse, Tiny Totts (twice), Man U last season. These games were as loud as any I had heard in the premiership home or away. Lets give credit this season for games when we do make a big noise.
was at chavs and manu games and thought grove was rockin,, suppose its easier 4 people 2get up 4 the big matchs and sit domn 4 smaller teams,,, hopefully this season more red members and less football touristGooneroonie wrote:Average games that go on sale to Red members do indeed sem a bit louder.
