Dear Mr Wenger - WE DEMAND A TROPHY THIS SEASON - Thanks PAL

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Get some fucking perspective for fucks sake, no matter how much anyone "demands" we aint going to win a trophy every season. I can't believe how comfortable and complacent we have become over the last 10 years or so and have got to the stage where some of ours "demand" a trophy in payment for their "support". Arsenal are in my blood and if we did'nt win a trophy for the next 100 years (if it was possible to live that long :? ) they'd still be in my ancient blood. They were in my blood the morning after some abysmal times, after we lost at home to Walsall and away to Wrexham and York City in the 80s and the seasons we flirted with relegation in the mid 70s and the week in 1980 when I saw us lose to wham and valencia in two cup finals in the same week. Yes I was gutted, sick and pissed off for fuck knows how long after but at the end of it all and what kept me coming back was the fact that I'm Arsenal through and through, thick and thin, good times and bad and if we win fuck all this season then I'll be pissed off, moaning and gutted but my love for Arsenal does'nt depend on the "demand" for a trophy, it's been unconditional since, as a small boy I lived through a losing league cup final to 3rd division Swindon Town and it's survived right through to the eve of me entering old age :? and always will. The fates willing I'll be back next season even if, as seems likely we win nothing this season and with our dodgy defence atm I would'nt put too much money on us having a great one :? but my support won't be conditional on a trophy :barscarf:

thank god at least charlie has sense around here!!!

these people grew up with the team winning trophies, they will fuck off and support another team if we dont win a trophy soon.

We need supporters who follow the team all the time not ones who only support a winning team

To be fair, I don't think Calo speaks for many on the forum :?

We can't demand trophies, as - like it or not - we haven't got the finances to match ManUre and Chelsea - and that's not Wenger's fault.

I think most of us would say that all we want is to feel that the club is doing everything possible - within reason - to be as successful as possible.
- personally, I don't think Wenger is doing that, and seems rather too pre-occupied with his experiment for my liking.

Our squad is very talented, but we have major weaknesses in the centre of midfield and central defence - and Wenger had plenty of money made availble to him, and he chose not to spend it. It looks to have cost us any chance of winning the title, even this this early on in the season.. and that is not acceptable, in my opinion.

I'm still with Wenger... but I'm concerned.

Agree with the above, for most fans there's been some dire times and some horrific football. I remember my first visit to Highbury being a stale 0-0 against sheff weds (Stefan Schwarz was my idol back then for some reason). Think we finished 12th that season. Then I saw us lose at Goodison in the last minute to a Rooney wonderstrike a few years later. Before that I thought Id go see us at Bradford City in order to witness a guaranteed victory...we lost 2-1. Nowadays our football is sooo much better and pleasing on the eye but i just feel that we have a perceived vulnerability that just doesnt exist with Manure or Chelski. with them you expect a victory and their fans must surely not have the same nerves I have before an Arsenal match..and this must surely rub off on the opposition

DONT CARE ABOUT HISTORY

Three/four years is too long for The Arsenal

Also is criminal we have not a single CL - disgusting - I demand it happens - we need to push Arsene and the board - make them realise we not just going to smile and say nothing

look what happened to shef wed - lost their ambition like notts forest

sorry i not agree at all

if charlie george had this attitude he would have done a square pass like ray wilkins rtaher than shoot and score a great goal in cup final

progress and maintaining and then superceeding targets

NEVER take your eye of the BALL

I agree with Calo on this

It was only 4 years ago we went 49 league games unbeaten and since then we have let Man Utd and Chelsea go well beyond us.
I am fed up with fans saying be patient the trophies will come. But will they? Will Cesc stay if we are trophyless again?
Not if we stand still while Man Utd and Chelsea streghten their squads every summer while we are still shopping at the bargin basement.(Silvestre,Bishoff)

If you think sucess is a top 4 finish you will be happy this season but the time has come to WIN things :banghead: :banghead:

he had £30M didnt spend it - if he had nothing i would be with him 101% and i would shut up although id want the board out

but we dont have no decent central defender who is commanding and we have tried everyone except me on the def mind central role

also im not saying i wont support the club

im saying i wont support the manager

its my choice you make yours

its appear to me that the below 4th teams bar aston villa have become worse CAK then ever

so 4th will be no feat

also it means there will be a top 3 then a gap with us in then another gap and the rest

is that accpetable - really good progress?

dont be conned by ferne game - they are useless

who have we played yet !!! you wait till be

the fixture list so far was kind to us we shoudl be top !!!!!

I only speak the truth

the greatest thing only this season to me is the emergance of the THEO THE GREAT !!!

Dont CRY when CESC leaves ? Just remember hes a winner and a CL win would mean there no reason to leave at all
