Arsenal's rememberance shirts

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A great gesture from our club.

I hope we do it every year. And that other clubs will follow our lead.

I wrote to the club earlier this evening congratulating them on such a great gesture and requesting that the make it an annual thing.

I know Sunderland did it last year, West Brom last week in their league game, so was delighted to see our lot do the same. Can I also say what a great gesture it is to see overseas managers and staff, including Arsene, wearing poppies.

i think this all started at Hearts a couple of years ago when they had the names of 5 of their players who died in the first world war on their strips, but shame on celtic they couldn't trust their fans to be silent so had a round of applause instead

Any idea where the auction is for the shirts themselves? I can't find it anywhere?

Respect to the Man U fans for Saturday too. When the compare asked for silence and then started telling the fans about the poppies on the shirt the United fans where the first to applaud, then they respected the silence magnificantly.
