Whatever way you look at it an already thin squad has got thinner.
I think Wenger has gone a bit mental. Look at how many games the boy Johan played up to December last season. It's not as if we have signed any more centre halfs is it?
I feel like giving up, our squad is so injury prone as it (just seen Ade is deffo out on Sunday, and Edward could be joining him). As melodramatic as all this sounds why do we make things harder for ourselves?
Johan Djourou
Just seems ridiculous - 4 recognised centre backs for a club of our stature should be par for the course given the number of matches coming up ....so we let go the truly talented reserve centrre back & stick with the one who looks like making a mistake every time he plays...& there are no definates about him coming back in January - when kolo will be missing ...cannot understand why we make a small squad weaker ...yet retain clueless Alex Song who shouldn't even be anywhere near the stadium let alone 1st team squad...bewildered!
I was a bit miffed on first hearing Djourou had gone on loan but after thinking about it for a while I think it may work out. As a loan player we can call him back in an emergency i.e players getting injured. He also gains experience playing against players in our division instead of sitting in the reserves waiting for Gallas, Toure & Senderos to take a fall.
I do hope he doesn't think Song can play there! He started at Centre half Barnet and looked hopeless. We have a few permutations at the back and Bruce did us a favour babysitting Bendtner last year so hopefully Djourou will benefit also.
