The defence had an awful game, they could easily have scored a second. Gallas, Kolo and Sagna didnt particularly look convincing. 3 points is fine but a similar performance at Blackburn would be catastrophic with the likes to Benny Mccarthy and Santa Cruz in their team. Extremely unimpressed with todays performance. I think we do need someone like Martins or Anelka, pacy and strong.

I always say that about keepers WK, especially second choice keepersWengerKnows wrote:is it just me or do opposition goalkeepers always seem to have the game of their life against us . any other day we would have scored 2 or 3 before the 70th minute .
anyway i'm just thankfull for the win and i think it will be a massive pychological boost to our lads .![]()

I have said for months now that one up front can only work if you have a mobile battering ram up front(eg shearer) and a midfield that is fluent in goalscoring and we are nowhere near fluent. In my opinion this is wengers only way of keeping hleb & rosicky both in the starting 11. I have also said that eboue is not a winger and the decision to move him there was because he was a cheaper option than buying a new winger. Fulham played a high offside line today and it is obvious that they decided to do that because we have no pace up front to scare them hence the need for an anelka type signing.
The pats on the back that we managed to escape with the 3 points today are all well & good but last seasons problems are still there for all to see. For me the most damning thing was when you looked at our subs bench today - hardly the stuff to make your oppenents shake with fear is it ? It again highlights the lack of depth in our squad so get the chequebook out arsene for f*cks sake

I think we have a tendency of making keepers look good. I cant think of an exceptional save he made yesterday, almost all were either poor finishing, or there was too much pace on the pass.green gooner wrote:I always say that about keepers WK, especially second choice keepersWengerKnows wrote:is it just me or do opposition goalkeepers always seem to have the game of their life against us . any other day we would have scored 2 or 3 before the 70th minute .

Donaldo whilst I agree winning is the ultimate aim what we were hoping to see here was progress and to see a team that had learnt from the mistakes of last season. Do you think you saw either ?!?.
For Fulham yesterday read half of our home games last season.
If Wenger chooses to play one up front at home then it really doesn't say much for our other strikers.
In years gone by playing a high line against us was suicidal. Not anymore.[/quote]

I dont think people are getting worked up with the goal Lehmann conceeded. Fulham with their sh*t players opened our defence a few times, they could have easily gone 3-0 up. Thats pretty much the concern. We need to have an exceptional season at the back to have any chance of winning anything this year, we have to a lot better, that even includes Kolo than last season.All_Arsenal_1886 wrote:Why is everyone getting worked up about going one nil behind because it was like the other times when we play bad let the away team score then think shit we now need two goals, Fulhams goal was just a goalkeeping error which wont happen in every game... Well i hope not![]()
