KolO TourE is NOT LEAVING TRansfer Request Withdrwn

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Latest from the web.....

Speculation is mounting tonight that Kolo Toure has played his last game at Arsenal. It is believed, he has said his last goodbyes today and packed up his locker, with Man City being his destination.

The departure of Toure will be of huge significance to Arsenal, with him being the last remaining member of the 2004 invincibles.

Toure has found himself struggling through form and injury over the last year, and has gone from regular starter and vice-captain to bench warmer. A spat with ex-captain William Gallas has not helped things. Along with the form of Djourou, it seems Wenger has decided to cash in on Toure.

The main issue is the cost. Man City seem to be willing to pay between 8-12million for the centre-back. Whilst Wenger is holding out on a swap deal for Steven Ireland. The deal could be completed if Man City complete the purchase of Scott Parker from West Ham, who's signing would then pave the way for Ireland's exit.

I'm kinda in the middle about bringing in Ireland, he's obviously got loads of talent, he's in great form and we need a winger badly, but he's fuckin nuts and he looks like a crackhead. Doubt it will happen anyway. :banghead:

Mixed feelings about Stephen Ireland.

1. Would be good to have an Irishman at the club again.

2. He's talented, and in very good form.

3. Is a strong goal threat.

But...he seems rather mentally unstable...as shown by his actions in withdrawing from the Irish squad.
