As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Boomer wrote:No, becuase I believe a lot of the corporate season ticket holders (ie owned by companies) opted not to attend as this was not a 'glamour' fixture.
But they're all in Club Level, which never has any atmosphere?

I'm not sure this is logical either mate. The game did not sell out so never went to Ticket Exchange (I don't think) so how did these season tickets end up with Red members?
Not sure but at a guess they were given (or sold) to their friends whom of which gladly attended.
But they're all in Club Level, which never has any atmosphere?
Not nessarily as the ticket(s) could be in someone's name(s) and given to clients respectivley.
Guys, this may not be the case as it could have simply been the weather. but I do find it difficult to believe that we raise our voices against....Bolton....in December simply becuase it's cold.
if only it could be like that every game! I sit in block 11, and it can get lively there sometime, but not enough times! Its like people are embarrased to get up and shout.
I think the first thing the club should do is stop the wonder of u and find something that the crowd will be willing to join in to! Why not the jolly old 'Good old Arsenal' song, it will get alot more people up singing then the wonder of you does, the club has even resulted to putting kareoke style words on the big screen and still nothing!
If the crowd is up and lively at the start of a game there is more chance the atmosphere is going to get better and better throughout the game!

But that means they're a tout's ticket, and probably weren't re-sold to a Red Member as a Red Member could have easily got a ticket through the box office
BTW, I am a red member, but I think this whole "gold/silver/platinum members ruin the atmosphere" is such a load of bollocks Dickheads who sit on their hand with 7 hotdogs in their gobs ruin the atmosphere
You're not wrong. Do they still serve Fish N Chips in the ground? I saw it on the boards on the first "members day" and it was about £8 Saying that, have never seen anyone buy it before?
Mikegooner87i wrote:they got some deal that i remember, a burger, some chips and a pint, for a a bargain 9.95! Credit crunch busters our club!
FUCK!?
Really??
Who'd pay a tenner for a burger and a beer?? It's about half that in a pub!
Offtopic, but I don't understand what sort of person can't spend 2 hours in a stadium without eating.... Personally, I haven't eaten anything in about 16 hours and I'm still conscious....

I think many ticket holders have pool of frends. I do but only if I'm away. Maybe quieter fans gave their 'louder' friends tickets.
MD of a company (& his wife ) for example could entertain clients. However, the lack of appeal may have meant that tickets we're passed to company employees ('fans') or friends. Those that managed to attend could give more atmosphere as they normally can't get to a game. Both of which could even be silver/red members for example.
Unfortunately, yes! sometimes this does bypass the registration scheme.

Hugh, Block 12 as I always do. OK, a wake is a bit of an exaggeration but there was definitely a sort of resigned atmosphere in the first half due to how Bolton had set out to play and how we were struggling to unlock the door.
2nd half was excellent
hugh jardon wrote:A constant gripe of many gooners on these pages is the lack of atmosphere at home games. Against our main rivals - Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea etc we have no problem raising the noise levels, but against lesser opposition the atmosphere can be as flat as a nuns chest. However, anyone at the Bolton game will testify the atmosphere was largely excellent.
So why was this? And was it a flash in the pan or is it substainable?
Was it due to the fact that the game did not sell out until two days before matchday, meaning may more Red Members than usual were able to get tickets?
Was it due to the fact that Arsenal supporters have realised that this is one hell of a poor Arsenal team, and although capable of beating anyone are also capable of losing to anyone, and so have we realised our vocal support is needed more than ever in recent years?
Was it due the fact that Arsenal fans are now feeling more 'at home' at home games and come to the games to support the team rather than be in awe of the new stadium and spend the 90 minutes taking photos?
Or was it due to it simply due to the fact that it was so bloody cold people had to get involved to keep from catching frostbite and 'Jump Up For The Arsenal' will only get an airing at winter games?!
it was okay to be honest i would'nt call it good at all. both ends lower tier gave it ago but the sides as usual were poo

Honestly I think the club would be against that on the grounds that the song it is sung to is Rule Britannia and has connotations of the British Empire & the slave trade etc that wouldn’t fit well with our “global brandâ€
