Baptista

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Absence makes the hard grow fonder yankee - he was a big lumbering oaf (ox in the box remember) when he was with us and I doubt if he has changed much since. However the problem is now that big lumps like him are the players causing us most trouble and it would be typical if a Gooner reject was the one to screw us over  Where yankee is of course right is that the quality of our players has nosedived dramatically in recent years but while that may indeed make our team weaker it doesnt also make the beast any better than he was and sadly we all found out that the beast is not good enough to be a player in the english premiership - now if we can only get wenger to realise the same applies to that other heap of shite that is alex song :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Baptista did not want to be here.

He only showed us glimpses of his talent as a result, and was too slow to play in the Premiership.

Now theres Denilson, Diaby, Bendtner, Song and Eboue (he was there before but not as a RW). So now he is better than 3/4 of the team, before he wasnt.
Well should he not have been better in a team that's 10 times better than our current team???
some of the service he was gettin from the line up you mentioned was first class, I remember on at least two occasions where the camera clearly showed AW shaking his head in complete disbelief after Baptista mis-controlled an easy ball or hopelessy fluffed another sitter for the umpteenth time, his touch for a Brazilian was shocking his distribution was poor and the only time he did well in front of goal was the 6-3 against the Mousers which was only in the Carling Cup :!:

He was too burgered up for the PL. Slower leagues like spain and Italy suit him. But he WILL score against us - it's always the way with rejects. Can we outscore them? I fucking hope so... :?

I've not been one of the most optimistic on here lately but Roma are 9th in Serie A and have already lost 7 in the league. I've got to believe that Bap will not be enough to put them through.
I'm not a big follower of Italian football, but didn't Roma get off to an atrocious start and are now on some kind of brilliant resurgence??

And I think Baptista will probably score against us.

I remember thinking "big powerful player, absolutely ideal as a bit of muscle is what we have missing"!

Now I think "thank fuck we didn't buy that useless twat"!

Sorry, but if we are going to worry about the likes of him because of the odd fancy overhead we may as well pull out of the competiton now.
