Surely we should take fitness for granted - is that not the least we can expect? An athlete at the peak of their fitness staying fit for 40 consecutive weeks during the season?
Shows how bad things have got. I don't remember GG going on about how great it was that Merson had gone a whole season uninjured

WE are delighted with Paul, he has managed a whole season without getting as high as a kite and spending his entire wages in Ladbrokes.

Is it just me or does anyone else expect him to get injured in the first game after the transfer window as closed without us signing anyone ?
