As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

this is what quartz said on the other thread:
But what about if next season Nasri, Cesc, Theo, Rosicky and Arshavin are all fit?
And Ramsey is pushing for a place too?
And so is Simpson after a good loan spell at West Brom?
How does Wenger keep them all happy?
Cesc has looked very downcast at times this season, though maybe that was just because he was tired?
Maybe Theo will play up front a bit next season?
and this was my reply:
i think wenger has realised that he cant count on rosicky to feature in the majority of games so take him out of the equation. ramsey would be playing CM rather than out on the wings, and simpson would play up front and not in the midfield.
this would leave nasri, cesc, theo and arshavin as our regular attackers. theo obviously isnt ready enough to play all games in a season and so it is feasible to manage those players in a rotation system.
also you may point to other wingers such as wilshere and vela, but i highly doubt he would pick them to start more than 5 premierleague games, if even that. plus vela may be pushed up front.

The thought is still very much in my mind, that we have spent so much on Arshavin in case Cesc goes to Barcelona this summer.
Not impossible, as some doubt he will want to play outside the Champions League.
In which case Nasri will likely play in the middle.
It is also possible that Rosicky might retire, or be sold when he reaches a semblance of fitness.
Next season we will have a lot of attacking midfielders/second strikers.
Not all on the list can play as second striker, some are central some are wide, but all can play in an offensive role in midfield.
Someone will surely leave?
Here is the list.
Cesc
Nasri
Rosicky
Arshavin
Walcott (either wing or up front)
Simpson (right wing or up front)
Traore (left wing or full back)
Diaby
Wilshere
Ramsey
Denilson (more of an all round midfielder than attacking, but can play an attacking role from midfield)
Gibbs (usually left back but can play left midfield)
Eboue (right full back or right midfield)
Vela (left wing or up front)
Then there are the youngsters who might push for places
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
Rui Fonte
Fran Merida
Barazite
Botelho (left back who can play left midfield)
Vela is just a striker......having him on the wing is a waste.....take him off that list
I think Cesc would have been more likely to leave had we not signed an iconic player like Arshavin.
Remember when he cam through the ranks we still had DB10, TH14, PV4, so I think he will see this as a good step for us and that hopefully he can achieve better things by staying.
I really hope not, but it is a possibility. If I were Tommy R however, I'd be more than a little uncomfortable right now.
Hopefully by the end of the next close season we will have found/developed at least one competent defensive midfielder to give balance to a team/squad loaded with attacking talent.

You never know Which of us would have said Flamini would have emerged as such a driving force in our midfield last season? He had looked a much better left back than CM before that.
The memory of the Flamster dominating and intimidating Pirlo, Gattuso and co in the San Siro will linger for a while yet.
Cesc Fabregas says he has avoided going to watch Barcelona during his rehabilitation from a knee injury as he wanted to avoid speculation about his future. The Arsenal skipper was injured in a challenge with Liverpool's Xabi Alonso just before Christmas and could face another three months on the sidelines as he recovers in Catalunya. And the Spaniard said he has steered well clear of the Nou Camp as he knows he will be linked with a return to the club he left aged 16 and is adamant he is fully focussed on getting fit for Arsenal's run-in.
"I'd have liked to have gone to watch Barcelona in the Nou Camp, but I wanted to avoid all the speculation on my future," Fabregas told Spanish newspaper Marca.
"Now my only worry is that I recover as soon as possible to return to Arsenal and help my team."
