11 DAYS OF HOPE & STRESS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I wish I had your confidence mate.
I wish I wasn't so pessimistic.
I wish Wenger would buy a proven quality player.

ok so if arsenal finish 4th again and be 20 points off the champions like last season should wengers position be questioned? however great he has been for us in the past somthing isnt right HE has money and every player is OVER PRICED what will he do never buy a established player again. Are we not a big club we shouldnt have to think about 10 mil for anelka. I dont just want wenger to spend money just because he has it but because he needs to.

Depends how we performed during the season, last time we played brilliantly but didn't take our chances though obviously would be very concerned if we had that problem again. If we play to a poor standard then yes, Arsene should be questioned, be nice if he could win a cup or two this season.

I've been called a glory hunter a few times which really winds me up mostly because it's southen Manure supports  who think they aint glory hunters

I have a valid reason for supporting the Arsenal and i'm proud of it :D i'm enjoying this forum loads because i get to talk to fans who have supported Arsenal far longer than me and know what its like when the club is it a bad way.

I'm not sure why i started this post but would like to say we all support the same team and want whats best for them :? i really don't know what im going on about now

i'm going before i blab on about anything else
erm... yeah, you got a bit sidetracked there old friend!! Not too worry.

If you read my post again you'll see I was NOT taking a pop at any "new" fans (I hate that description!) and I certainly wasn't questioning your loyalty, street cred or devotion to the Gooners - your posts on here are proof enough that you walk it the way you talk it. 8)

Sincere apologies if I gave ANYONE the impression I was looking down on the "younger" fans (still a bit of a dodgy description, but better than "new"). That was not my intention and I thought I made it clear on the original post.
:?
I was just explaining why alot of us older fans are negative b*stards at times...

A very very good point there donaldo. Flamini is a trier but he is NOT good enough to play central midfield and never will be unfortunately. And Song is really very average at best.

It's hard to believe that AW doesn't see that the squad needs strengthening with real quality - he must see it.

So - is there a problem with transfer funds?? Are we broke??

Or is there really no one available at the right (or even a reasonable) price or that has the right attitude or whatever he judges them by?? :?

It's baffling. We all know what we need so he must know it too. The board say there is money there but we don't buy any "big" players.

It worries me too... :?
i think flamani seems too have a lot of passion for the club, and he likes a bit of argy bargie....so he is gd player in my eyes
I agree, he is passionate and seems to genuinely love being a Gunner. And he's willing to get in there where it hurts, which is vital.

I never questioned any of that (I called him a trier) but I just don't think he is technically proficient enough to play central midfield. :(

In all fairness to him he was outstanding as a wing back for the CL run in 2006. 8)

But honestly, ask yourself, would he be playing central midfield at manure, chav$ki or the mousers? Not a chance. I don't like comparing us to those gee bags but it does show the difference in squad strength... :?
