has anyone actually played football to a "decent"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I played six times for Ireland under 16s. There was rumours that Spurs wanted to sign me so i broke my leg in four places and gave up football.

played in goal for my school and a local team. best it ever got was a scintillating cup run where we lost 3-1 in the final. will always remember by best game and my worst as well.

packed it up when being a teenager kicked in with the lures of music and booze, though the likes of bergkamp, henry and vieira kept up my interest in the arsenal.

In my younger days I played for all my school teams and a sunday league team. I remember a bloke approaching my Dad regarding a trial at Brentford but it never materialised. Believe it or not I used to be a sporty fucker in those days nowhere near the size in the Sunderland photo's until I hit 16 and started drinking and fucking.

My brother did play goalkeeper in the same West London school boys team as Jody Morris, the little shit bag who used to play for Leeds and Chelsea.

It's probably a lot different here than over there, but, I played all throughout my school years. High school I played right midfield all 4 years and was on the first team for 3 of them. When I went to college I took a year off but then played for my university's club team for 2 years and I have played in a local league for 3 years now.

For the last 2 seasons in that league I was captain of my team and I played a pure central midfield role like Fabregas which I found I was a lot better at. This league is full of Mexicans and Germans it's pretty intense. Unfortunatley I tore BOTH my ACL and MCL in a tackle last season and had to have surgery... have been out of anything sport related since September and cant be back until May

Had a trial at brentford back in the late 80's (I think :? ). They had marcus gayle, dean holdsworth, richard cadette & a big fcuker that played up front (blissit I think) and want on to claim fame as the man that fractured the cheekbone of uzell (or whatever his name was  ) of torquay although to be fair he had all but left the club when I was there

how about you?
Why are you referring to yourself as a third person?
?
You are referring to yourself as "Radford149" instead of "I". It's a little bit weird

What position?
Radford was a forward and played for Tunbridge Well and Whitstable
Whitstable have probably improved, since your departure.

They came to Burgess Hill last week. And won 5 - 0. :D

Kickabout level!

Played for a work five a side team once which was highest level I got to!

Was not very good but reckon I was at my fittest at that age (19), though my skill level was still abysmal.

Being serious, I played Jewson league (2 divisions below conference) until I was 28. I gave up because of a recurring injury to my left knee. I played a couple of kickabouts but saturdays game was the first time I had played any type of game since I was about 32. I'm now almost 41.
I felt great after the game Saturday, and had no ill effects yesterday but by Christ my Knee is hurting this morning.

I played for Crystal Palace girls for a bit. To be fair, all you had to do was turn up for training and you were in.

I only played to Sunday league level as a right back even have a division 5 runners up medal  :)

My brother used to play for Orient youth team and played in the same youth team as Chis Bart-Williams he was a superb winger could run 100 metres in just over 12 seconds.
