Played for Annerley All Stars in Brisbane from under 7's to under 15's then moved home to Ireland.
Played striker for O'Connells schools (won a couple of leagues) and was chosen for the Dublin districts schools team at county level (won fuck all). My coach at schoolboys level arranged a trial for about 5 of us with QPR and (I think) Norwich back in the mid 1980's but I blew my knee ligament and missed most of that season. None of our lads made it and to be honest I wouldn't have either.
Played for two local teams at amateur level (striker, central midfield and winger) in the league below semi-pro until I hit 30 (won a couple of cups and 3 leagues). Now play part time as a "ringer" for my brother's team and play fulltime in a 5 a side pub league that is at a pretty good level.
Got problems with both knees (wear and tear and ligament injuries over the years) and had my ankle broken in two places and calf muscle nearly severed on the Saturday after the CL final in 2006 (some fucking week that was!). I can play one indoor game or one outdoor game a week (and don't really train much anymore) but my ankle will hurt like a cuntslop for most of two days following...
I also have this thing where I have actually scored in every single game I have played in at all levels since (I think) about under 10's or so. My old man used to reckon it was since under 7's but I don't think it was. Some great goals in there but some awful flukes too! To put it into perspective, I've missed alot of games too through injury over the years. Actually, it's become a bit of a pain in the arse to be honest (when will I fuck it up?) and I've often thought about missing a sitter just to get rid of it...

played for local sides in enfield and then in league in stanstead, rising to the heady heights of playing at bishops stortford for 4 or so cup finals, when the mighty martin hayes was in charge (not sure if he still is?).
still playing 7 and 11 a side usually over at borehamwood with work. will be up for any future games against other supporters teams if any others arranged, have a s/t so there for all the games.
was also at the training ground (with basil) last week getting some tips from Bob wilson and the coaches, bob is an absolute legend, arsenal through and through, proper nice bloke with it!!

Played very well for one of my local clubs rockmount...centre back...remember my first training session still...had the blue jvc jersey on with adams on the back...the called me adams for my time there....i was known as Gerry Adams
....anyway about 12/13 i was diagnosed with perthes disease so had to give up eveything for a year or 2..all i was allowed do was walk..so after 2 years i never went back really...its a shame..coulda been something special
