Bernard Manning was a bit too far at times but off stage he was nothing like his on stage persona. He was actually a fairly reserved fella.
I wasn't a fan of his humour but every now and then a little gem popped out.

Flash, this thread was straightforward about put downs, then it started getting weird.
Others started talking about Manning and stuff so I just put my opinion up.
Not as if I have written an essay about it! Just three words.
His act was just about every 'ist' and 'ism' you could think of. Away from work he wasn't really like that at all. It was always difficult to judge because even when he did interviews a bit of his stage persona came across. I guess it was a safety net so few people got through to the real person.
