Couple of things that I noticed last night were :

1/ Eboue giving advise to Denilson(I think) before the pens!!! Hilarious...as if!

2/ RVP after taking his pen going up to Eduardo and tweaking his nose as if to say don't worry it'll be ok, thought that was quality!!!

I said before I don't think that the boys played particularly well, although Sami did perk up a bit in the second half and you couldn't knock the fact that he run himself ragged around the pitch and I was disappointed with RVP(my fave) but we're through!!!! :barscarf:

I can't be bothered to read through the previous 213 pages of this thread to see if it's been mentioned already but hats off to Baptista. I still can't quite believe that Wenger was chasing him for ages. What an ugly useless footie player that man is and thank God it was him and not Totti from 5 yards! Unbelievably shit.

Also saw that. Admittedly only a small detail but not quite the self-centred actions of an egotistical maniac only concerned with himself & not his team-mates.

Good point Doris. Poor as he was I cant believe he was being highlighted for a lack of effort.

When we weren’t in possession he was back with rest of the midfield behind the ball, then when we had it he was supposed to somehow bridge that 40 yard gap between the midfield & RVP. Not easy especially when as a team we gave the ball away so cheaply all night. I’d guess he clocked up a fair old mileage off the ball just trying to break forward in support only to have to turn round & get straight back after Diaby et al had given the ball straight back to Roma.

That was an impressive miss  Even so, he managed to shut Almunia up with his penalty (did anyone else notice Mooney trying to wind up him beforehand?)

Also, in the pic with RVP celebrating, what is Eboue holding? It looks like a condom wrapper

Yep, heard him yell something followed by Julio on the end and at the time I thought if the 'beast' (ahem, yeah right!) had missed then the ref might have ordered a retake.

one thing i have noticed about song and this is true is that he rarely will celebrate a goal, watch him on the bench when arsenal score and he doesnt ever move when the rest are at least clapping

Have to say the whole Rome trip was amazing!

everything was well laid on by the club, the buses and everything, they were slow but got us their and back fine!

Was impressed with their stadium and the noise genrated once inside, from our fans and theirs!

We didnt play particularly well, but what i was pleased with was the desire and the workrate, every player out their gave it their all and in th end we got through!

The penalties were nerve racking! went through evey emotion there!

Cant wait to see who we get in the next round! Barcelona or Man Utd hopefully!!

sorry mate Radford thinks you are avin a laugh. after the game it was a fucking shambles standing around for about an hour before getting on a bus and waiting ages for the bus to go and then being taken on a slow convey around rome at one in the fucking morning. if you think that that was acceptable then god help us.
