Saying that we only beat the same teams that we beat last year so don't get too upbeat is missing the point.
For reference, I am not over the top in believing that we will challenge, just happy with the points in the bag and some excellent team play.
It is more about the fact that we have started the season with confidence boosting wins, important for this relatively young team. And we all know that beating Man City at the time we did (due to their start) means more than it did at the end of last season. Imagine that playing Derby now is going to be potentially easier than when they have acclimatised to the premiership and start fighting for their lives. There is a bearing in terms of when in the season you play an opponent.
can we win the prem!!!
Much too early to say.Dont forget 3 of our first 4 games have been at home against opposition we would have expected to beat.We will know much better after November and December which are normally bad months for us.I said at the start of the season that i thought we would finish 3rd or 4th and i stick by that.I voted for maybe next year
To follow on from TS's point I think we may be a good cup team this season in that on our day we can beat anyone but over a season ? With the size of our squad ? Not a hope of this squad winning the league. It is so true that if we suffer just 2 or 3 injuries we may well be f*cked but we are already in trouble at centre back where Gilberto has had 2 play out of position there twice already and we've only played 4 league games.
It is very true that fans are fickle sometimes and get over confident cos most fans on this forum have acknowledged for months that this squad is too thin but now some have turned and think we can win it. WE have played nobody yet and will get our 1st real tester of this season next week at shite fart lane where we could be without gallas & sagna and are already without big phil & djouru(still cant get my head around that decision) and thats without factoring in the inevitable injuries that we suffer every international break. I would guess that the air of confidence currently being felt by us all would turn very quickly should the unthinkable happen and we lose to the scum. It goes without saying that if we play to form we will conquer and keep this little run going cos even though i believe that it will not lead us to a title win it will lead to confidence in the squad which is always a good thing
