22 people die at Ivory Coast Game

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What I loved the most about Cairo's traffic was the fact that they had traffic lights installed, but didn't use them !

Instead preferring to have a policeman standing in the middle of the junction half heartedly attempting to conduct the traffic through !

Also obviously the black cab drivers using cars that would never get near an MOT certificate over here, driving around at 90mph (where they could !) without seat belts even installed in the cars !

There was a camel tied up under a lean-to nxt to a house. That in itself wasn't bizarre, they're everywhere. I bet they don't all have 'go faster stripes' painted along them though

Maddest thing I saw there was a bloke sitting on a donkey, stopped at a traffic light. He had a sheep draped over the front of the donkey with him but his wife and 2 kids stood behind him on the ground. The wife had a sun umbrella held up over the guy and the sheep, while herself and the kids baked in the 45 degree sunshine... Our guide explained that the sheep would have been their family's prized possession. Real eye opener...
F*ck me those bloody Welsh get everywhere dont they!
I did think it strange when what I thought was an Egyptian lad on the donkey yelled, "Move yoo fahking bus boyo!" at our coach driver...

It looks from the pictures that the stadium still has perimeter fences? Are they not banned for all FIFA matches? :?

This is shocking news.. hardly mentioned in the news either. If this happened in europe you would never hear the last of it.

Fact, fact, and fact. And to think they played the game right afterwards is absolutley unbelieveable. If that happened here or in Europe the game would have been suspended 100% sure.

I heard they were all singing 'Im Ivory coast till I die'

Do you think that made the survivors feel like lesser supporters?
