2. Why play Van Persie out on the left hand side of midfield? It unbalanced our midfield and thus meant we were only threatening down one side. We all know that he won't go outside his defender with pace or a trick - like Arshaven and Nasri might have done - and if he cuts inside he automatically comes onto his self-confessed chocolate leg!! If you are going to play Van Persie as part of a 5 man midfield, than play him on the right - as Holland did/do - and then he at least is coming onto his strong side.
3. Why did you leave it so late to make the substitutions? We were obviously struggling to create anything and an earlier change might have helped us. A team can have one or maybe two players that are careless with the ball but we had a plethora of them and yet you did nothing about it until it was too late.
4. When you finally did something, why did you make the substitutions that you did? Diaby was having a nightmare and was a prime candidate to be changed and could have been replaced by either Arshavin/Nasri (allowing Cesc to drop back and RVP or the other sub to play in support of Ade) or if you didn't want to change the system, Diaby could have been replaced by Song.
5. Although Ade was struggling to make an impact, and Robin was on the edge of the game, why did you take both of them off? I understand maybe a straight Ade/Nic swap, or even taking RVP off and replacing him with Andrey or Sami. But all you did was keep the same shape and took off our two top goalscorers.
Now I thought we might lose today because of the weakness of our defence, but what disappointed me more is that we didn't play well attacking wise and lost to a team that weren't, and didn't play any better than ourselves. This was in major part down to the team selection made by Wenger. To compound things, the goals we conceeded were both self inflicted.
I'm not going to have a go at Fab for the winner as it was clearly a bad mistake. The jury is obviously still out on whether he will be good enough in the long term. One thing is clear though, the kid isn't ready now for a team with aspirations of winning stuff.
Finally - although I could go on - those of you that wondered/forgot why Sagna was brought, it was made clear again today: Eboue Can't Defend!!!
