Bradford fire

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Very sad and shocking that it is more or less ignored by the media as the club involved is not fashionable enough.

And also the club itself acts with a perfect dignity, respecting the memories of those passed on. Unlike others who choose to adopt a victim mentality........

The man on fire at the end of the video actually died. Not really appropriate to have that part on show.

There was a brief report on the BBC website last night, can`t find it now. Found this though.

Shocking the speed in which events unfolded, the video clip is only 7 mins long, and some of that is of the game beforehand.

Jesus, I genuinely didn't know that this was today. No coverage at all.

RIP to the REAL victims of decrepit stadiums. :(

Unimaginably horrible for those poor people.

Wiki says half of the deaths were people under 20 or over 70.

I don't think it's that the Bradford City anniversary didn't get the publicity it deserved, it's simply that Hillsborough will continue to be high profile because the media loves Liverpool and scousers are always on an emotional trip whatever they do. There have been plenty of other disasters which seem to get overlooked now (Ibrox, Herald of Free Enterprise, Kings X etc etc). 5 live broadcast the memorial service live from Anfield.

Men women and children perished in the Bethnal Green underground disaster during WW2 - the greatest single loss of civilian life in Britain - yet survivors still haven't got enough money to get a proper memorial put up.

The media in this country have a lot to answer for.
