I agree that indeed he does have The Sweetest Left Foot in the prem - But, I always find myself thinking:
How long before he gets injured (which isn't wishful thinking - more like this nagging voice) oh dear those voices again!
Also he really comes into his own - when surrounded by equally skilled and class players'
He has the ability to take any game by the scruff of its neck and win it - like he did against the chavs - But he needs 'the right combination of players'
in other words er errmmm I don't know either

Robin should stay, as we need talented players in our squad. I think that if we go into next season with him being our main striker though, we will be fucked, as he is not prolific enough.
Where I think RVP can thrive, is playing with an extremely quick striker. I am starting to come around to the idea of Theo playing up top. He has pace to burn, and knows how to roll a tight marking CB.
RVP has the quality to score 15 goals plus in the league, and as a secondary striker this would be good enough!

I thought that rvp worked his socks off yesterday and surprisingly won a few headers off vidic
However, and I have said this for a while now, he seems unable to find a partnership with any striker that even comes close to working and this is a similar scenario that michael owen had with the scousers but owen had the pace to bridge that gap. I fully believe that arshavin is by far and away the best player we have to play in the Bergkamp role but I doubt that wenger will play him there and I would not be surprised one jot if wenger sold the little russian in the summer
RVP has a touch of class about him of that there is no doubt but he has fcuk all pace and cannot play with a support striker like arshavin as a result. Would he stay as a squad player ? Highly unlikely cos of his mentality added to the fact that as a club we havent built up enough prestige that players are just happy and honoured to be with us in the way they are with the mancs. Overall I think that we should sell rvp if we get a decent offer and sell the greedy *word censored* if we get any offer and buy just 1 pacy striker to play up top with arshavin and have eduardo, bedtner and vela as back ups

Surely you jest augie. Then again nothing would surprise me may be he thinks arshavin is killing the greedy one and bendtneraugie wrote:I thought that rvp worked his socks off yesterday and surprisingly won a few headers off vidicHowever, and I have said this for a while now, he seems unable to find a partnership with any striker that even comes close to working and this is a similar scenario that michael owen had with the scousers but owen had the pace to bridge that gap. This might sould ridiculous but even I aint sure if I jest or not
Arshavin is an outstanding talent who would shine in any team and any country and there is no doubt that his stock will have risen across europe since his arrival at the grove. I also believe that he is rightly unhappy at being played out of position on the wing and I would say, given his recent quotes (if they are true) that he thought that he was joining a better team than the one he has found
We have already seen with diarra that wenger will sell a player quickly if he thinks that his attitude is bad for the squad morale and while that was a completely different circumstance I still wouldnt put it beyond wenger if he thought that he would make a huge profit on him. Maybe I am just looking at the rumoured transfer kitty and thinking that wenger is going to have to sell and automatically I am thinking the worst - wouldnt be the 1st time eh

I'm a big fan of RVP but there is something missing from his game. Sure he is not an out and out goalscorer, more in the Bergkamp mould, but I just think he lacks complete focus and concentration. He is a match winner on his day but not as regular as Rooney,Ronaldo Gerrard etc. I wouldnt necessarily sell him as we need to strengthen other departments like holding midfielder and centre half

Well in that case that lazy fucker adebayor should be the 1st to go if anybody is bad for morale it has to be him.But i suppose if you think of it with his recent team tactics and playing players out of position it would be something he would do.augie wrote:This might sould ridiculous but even I aint sure if I jest or notArshavin is an outstanding talent who would shine in any team and any country and there is no doubt that his stock will have risen across europe since his arrival at the grove. I would keep him, with eduardo he is our best striker at the club, 18 goals in 37 starts aint bad eiether. The only thing that is in question and always has been is his fitness. Yet again he has had niggling injuries. This season he carried us in january. He scored or was involved in, every goal in january
. Pairing him with a better striker who actaully moves ahead of him, and doesn't stand stll would help.

RIGHT WING as hes does AMAZINGLY at international level.
id sell fabregas before RVP, people main gripe with rvp is lack of pase yet fabby is by far the slowest player out there.
and lets be honest there are plenty of player in our squad that can play in his role.
id sell to barcelona, he wont play for them anyway as the two guys in their midfield are the two keeping him out of the spanish starting 11.
and that money could wel be used elswhere.
yes im serious, dont shoot this down straight away think about it with your head not your heart

I think that RVP has suffered from playing with rubbish alongside him (like Adeybayor). Put him up front with Eduardo and with Arshavin supporting them as well and I think that we would see the best of him as long as he can stay clear of injuries. I like RVP because he is one of the only players in the squad (along with Gallas) who has a bit of "attitude" about him. He actually looks as frustrated and annoyed as us fans when thing are not going well - look at the way he slammed the ball down on the centre spot after scoring his penalty against Man Utd in the Champions League Semi Final - and actually tries to do something about it rather than letting his head go down as lots of the other players do - Fabregas being a prime example. He is a class player and one of the few in the squad who you can say has the potential to be as good as some of the great attacking players that Wenger has had previously.

Right, right and right again. If he is fit, he can MAKE a big difference to us..Sutch wrote:We must keep RvP. If we sell him, 1 or 2 years later we would regret it, he is IMO our main striker, not that greedy egotistical c**t, and if we get a good replacement for Wannabe Henry, hopefully they will work good together.

one thing I haven't seen mentioned is Van Persie's free kicks.
He hasn't scored one this season (which is very odd), but he usually puts away at least 4 or 5 a year. That's something we are sorely missing and nobody else on the current team can give us.
That's also a big reason why he's only scored 9 goals in the league this year.
Once he scores one they will go in again on a regular basis and we really need that.
