As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It's very easy to have a pop at anyone who promotes "blind faith" BUT everyone of us know exactly what they mean, I mean we were lucky not to be 4 down after the 1st leg of the semi yet that didn't stop the tickets for the return selling out in under two hours
You only have to look at football supporters thru-out the country who follow their teams up and down the country no doubt playing shit football at some shit grounds with shit pitches and shit facilities
Now everything I wanted to say has already been written by others like Ram, IU4GN, Number 5 etc. so I'll just leave it at this:
Matt, piresistible, ramon and anyone else that is not happy with the content of this forum have the right and freedom to go elsewhere. What they don't have the right to do is come on here questioning the loyalty of the regulars that frequent this forum. As I've warned before, I will now start deleting posts that tell or imply that other gooners should 'feck off and support someone else' because they dare to have different opinions!!
So, if you really can't stand the nature of debate on here, please do yourselves - and more importantly, the rest of us - a favour and don't come back on here. I'm sure you won't be missed that much.

What you're describing there is not blind faith. That's loyalty, devotion, love.
Blind faith is the like of which whoever the hell started this thread exemplifies. It is a byword for ignorance.

Yeah I can read Hlebby, but is it not hypocritical for RAM to tell them to fuck off to another forum, I mean I'm just wondering cos it struck me as a wee bit, and I thought maybe the irony was not lost on you either as you tried to put it as diplomatic as possible

I didn't tell them to fuck off because they are so proudly blind. I told them to leave because they cannot accept that others on here have the right to voice opinions different to theirs.
If they wanted to have a discussion on the position of the team, this wasn't the way to do it. Attacking others who would side against them in such a discussion and labelling them lesser fans is outright disgusting.
BTW RAM I'm not havin a pop at you, you are a solid guy and good poster, and I know you have to get up at all hours to support The Arsenal from down under so the questioning of your loyalty is probably even harder to stomach, I was merely pointing out the possible contradiction!

Nothing wrong with what Ram said in the context of someone slagging users of this forum off. The only reason I put it more diplomatically is because he'd already said the words in the terms I would have used, and I didn't want to repeat them.
The obvious difference between being a forum user and a football supporter is the fact you can go elsewhere on the internet if you don't like the content, but you can't change your team!! When will these idiots understand that?

RAM ever heard of love is blind??? blind faith is devotion!!!
it's all semantics IMO
Oh if you want to be simplistic then of course its all semantics.
But nothing is that black and white!
Should we all turn on fans with different opinions to us because we so vehemently believe in the way mattbanger does? Should we not question anything at all?

Of course, no problems with what you're saying. Debate is healthy, and as we are showing here, it can happen without either of us resorting in personal attacks!
I think we may have gotten a little bogged down in what is only a small point in this argument though.
What IHH has just posted is the essence of what my first post was about, and what was my issue with this thread from the beginning.

Yeah I know, and the guilty parties understand that as well, and they are probably only too aware of how inflammatory that statement is so they have to be prepared to deal with the consequences and while it's easy to dismiss them as idiots some of the posts (plagarised or not) are actually very good!
I have thought about this a great deal and it's certainly a highly charged subject, but surely I can't be the only one to see it from both sides in that I understand why it shouldn't be said but I also understand why it is said!
