FCUK YOU DEIN

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If it was just about the money then why stay involved with red & white holdings ? If you want to have a pop at the man at least do so for the right reasons - it is not as if he hasnt given you a big enough reason
We're all agreed on the important bit, that Usmanov is a threat to AFC and DD's decision to sell to Usmanov/R&W was shit.

But, Augie, you cling to pro-DD views which are just not justified by the facts. As Usmanov himself said this week, "You should realise he [Dein] has achieved full market value from his shares from us and as a mark of respect for what he has done for Arsenal he is chairman of Red & White Holdings. He says Arsenal is his life - he's lived Arsenal and wants to continue to. But we won't be held hostage to any hostilities between him and the board."

This illustrates three things: (1) DD got the highest possible price for selling his shares, (2) DD's position as chairman of R&W (and therefore potentially returning to the AFC board) depends on nothing more than Usmanov's "mark of respect", meaning DD will be ditched the moment it suits Usmanov, and (3) DD has made an issue of wanting to be involved in the future of AFC. It is clear that DD's overriding priority was to get as much cash as possible, and getting a position with R&W was merely a secondary matter. As I said earlier, and which you have not challenged, if he had wanted it otherwise, DD could have taken a different route but that would have meant getting less money in return for retaining some degree of control that might have got in the way of Usmanov.

It is not just DD's conduct that deserves criticism, it is also his motives. He simply doesn't deserve your loyalty, on any level.

But perhaps we should just concentrate on Usmanov.
