As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Redknapp said: "Patrick wants to come to us and that says an awful lot about the man and his character.
"He wants to come here for the challenge not the money, because he would probably earn a third of what he is on at Inter."
It can't be true, surely??!
Footballistically, I'm not too concerned as Vieira is 33, injury prone and not even half the player he once was... but he's an Arsenal legend, and one of my favourite ever players.... to sign for Sp*rs would be sacrilege!!!!!!
Firstly I cant see it happen despite what shifty twitchy says
Secondly the man is an Arsenal legend no doubt
Thirdly I would be disappointed but would give him a good reception cos he earned that respect when he was with us. There is no doubt that they would expect us to react the same way that they did over sol but unlike them we do have some appreciation for what a former player has given the club
Personally I wouldnt be against bringing him back to us and trying him at centre half
I'm really starting to hate football tbh. All those years of memories of PV will be tarnished.
He was one of us, the last man you would expect to betray us.
Looking back at some of Adebayors goals against Spurs,Villareal,Geordies all brilliant. Ruined now, I can't bare to watch them.
Think of what the memories of PV4 will be like. What happens when the **** start giving him abuse, laugh at him and release him on a free.
I would most certainly boo because he knows what he is doing.
But I would be in shock if it happens.

Agreed.
He's a legend, and for everything he did for our club, he deserves a great response from the fans. Save the boo's for crunts who deserve it, like Bentley, Cashley and Greedy!
This is taking stupidity to another level, it's bad for everyone.
Despite the fact that some of you don't seem too bothred, he will never be the Arsenal legend he could have been.
Spurs will sign a player that struggle to cope with the pace of Serie A nowadays, to see him in the centre of midfield in the premiership again will just be comical. On top of that, even if he would be a success Spurs will be lucky to get more tha 10 games a season out of him.
He should come back to Arsenal and be converted into a central defender....

Agreed.
But I could never boo at him, he is one of the few heroes I have.

You'd boo Vieira??
Even after the 9 years great service he gave to Arsenal? after giving us the best years of his career? after playing such a pivotal part in us winning 2 doubles and captaining us through the invincible season???
After all that... you'd boo him???
So fickle
Don't boo Vieira... I'd be so embarassed to hear fellow gooners booing an Arsenal legend like that... it'll make us ALL look like a bunch of idiots - the press would eat us alive, and rightly so!

To be fair g88ner, a large section of the Highbury crowd booed him - albeit during the game - when he returned with Juventus. And if he does go to our most hated neighbours, that would justifiably be considered a much bigger and more heinous crime.
