Can’t see Wenger signing another centre back, he has been complaining we have so many he is having to start playing them in midfield!

Lets face it...who have Man City signed of genuine quality?

Toure - a defender who is past it and out of form
Adebayor - comes with more baggage than masis on an Air Africa plane - out of form

Santa Cruz - doubts over fitness - not consistent prolific goalscorer

Bellamy - major doubts over fitness, not prolific, pace is his main virtue - temperement issues

Barry - genuine class - a fantastic signing

We need to give Senderos a footballing makeover, train Vermaelen to head (as Dutch football rarely utilises crossing) and sign Hangeland
Song needs to be an enforcer - or get Flamini back at a fraction of his sale price

Considering he left for free that would be some feat! :? Perhaps you could point whoever originally wrote that in the way of the "economics explained" thread. You might like it too, it's all about bull! 8)

good deal or not i couldnt give a fuck. he is continuing to sell before buying and at this rate im preparing myself for 'i am far to busy with the players i have to think about signings' and all the bollocks we got last summer. We have now sold 2 players (one a *word censored*) to the team who look most likley to challenge us for forth, because lets face it we are not going to challenge those above us with the current crop....

We will probably wait till January again, which by then will be faaaaar to late, sign someone else in another long transfer saga, and end up with a giant fuck all again....

Its fast becoming a circus mr Wenger....

Well his experience in Italy may have helped
I think he may sign Hangeland if Toure goes
We only have Silvestre (who plays like he is on 60 a day), Djourou (who looks scared of his own shadow) and Gallas (who plays like he is on the Copa Cobana)
Song is a midfielder now
Vermaelen is hardly experienced so he would have to sign (I hope)

But think of the interest we'll be making on that. I bet PHW is constantly logged into his internet banking watching the balance grow.

Sorry I meant Hleb not Flamini
Although we could get both back as neither is wanted!

£40 million then for two average players. well done mr wenger robbing them.

hopefully he can use the money now to bring in a def mid i.e veloso, striker i.e huntelaar and another defender. arsenal would already look better with those 2 and another defender over toure and adebayor

Maybe wenger is stockpiling cash to make a big splash on a couple of players ? :? Far fetched idea I know but if he is selling all these guys without properly replacing them then he is setting himself up for the greatest slating any Arsenal manager has ever got from the fans. There is no doubt that chellini would be a fantastic place to start rebuilding but I am always doubtful of persuading italian players to move out of their native country (unless they are planning on setting up chip shops and pizzaries   ) so wouldnt be confident of signing him :(

I would also caution the fans about turning this into a negative - yes it is vital that we invest the money we are raising into buying quality players but lets not confuse that issue with that of the sales themselves. If most fans were questioned I think that they would admit that selling these 2 players for the prices being spoken about represents excellent business and I personally am all for the clearing out of a few more deadwood players in the hope that we will then bring some much needed quality into the team.
